In a clever twist, Cho, an Asian actor, plays the white Hollywood star who, in 'Breakfast at TifFany's,' played every Asian stereotype as Mr. Yunioshi.

In Mr. Yunioshi, J. Elijah Cho cleverly explores Mickey Rooney's infamous performance as Mr. Yunioshi in 'Breakfast at Tiffany's,' often pointed to as the most egregious example of yellowface in the movies. Rooney's 'over the top' characterization is cringeworthy to watch to this day, but it also raises several questions: Should actors have the opportunity to play ANY role? Could there ever have been a 'right' way to play it? And what compels an actor to play a character that they really shouldn't be playing? Asian-American writer/performer J. Elijah Cho attempts to explore these topics and more in this poignant and funny satire.

Actress-singer Sally Kellerman, who achieved worldwide movie fame for her role as Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan in Robert Altman's classic 1970 film “M*A*S*H,” with Donald Sutherland and Elliott Gould, died early this morning (Feb. 24) in her sleep from heart failure at her home in Woodland Hills.  She was 84.  For her iconic role, she was nominated as “Best Supporting Actress” by both the Oscars and Golden Globes.  It was reported by her manager and publicist Alan Eichler.

Broadway's John Michael Dias and Jacque Carnahan will present their new show: GET HAPPY, celebrating the song made famous by Judy Garland on January 29th at the Duplex Cabaret Theater at 7pm.
