Lorna Dallas of cabaret fame brings her latest musical foray, Glamorous Nights and Rainy Days, to Crazy Coqs. Dallas recently received in a New York Backstage Bistro award for her “Continued Consummate Artistry. ” The show, conceived with her two main collaborators, is directed by Barry Kleinbort and musical directed by Christopher Denny.

Available today as a CD and as a live show (for two nights), the new Melissa Errico creation is a lush and lovely look at the black velvet of film noir.

Songwriter Marilyn Bergman died at age 93 on January 8, 2022. Now, Barbra Streisand has paid tribute to the Bergmans in a new video on her YouTube channel, featuring clips and photos of them together.

According to deadline.com, Marilyn Bergman passed away at 1:15 this morning in her Los Angeles residence. Her husband and musical collaborator, Alan Bergman, and daughter, Julie Bergman, were at her bedside. At the age of 93, the award-winning lyricist and seventeen-time Oscar nominee died of non-Covid related respiratory problems.

She’s a great storyteller who takes on characters without losing her own unique personality. She is, in short, a cabaret singer’s cabaret singer. She mixed up standards and show tunes with pop songs and easy listening. It’s not every singer that could get away with using “You Light Up My Life” as an encore, but somehow it just seemed very right.
