Northport's exquisite John W. Engeman Theatre does it again with a boffo incarnation of Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story. Running through March 3rd at the Long Island venue, the musical is strongly directed by Keith Andrews and boasts an absolutely stellar cast many of whom have been in previous productions of this show. While we know Buddy (along with a few of his friends) died young and tragically in a plane crash, Alan Janes has certainly created a joyous celebration of Buddy's life.

In December 1956, in a small Memphis recording studio, four icons of music met-and had a jam-session that changed rock-n-roll forever. Broadway By the Bay invites music lovers of all ages to take their seats at the historic Fox Theater in downtown Redwood City as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins take to the stage for this story of a singular moment in rock-n-roll history, and a night of legendary music that lived on in infamy. Matrix Theatre Company continues its 2017 2018 Mainstage Season with the world premiere of Michael Perrie Jr.'s comedy, Big Red Button, opening February 2 and running through February 25. The production runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8PM and Sundays at 3PM.

Startup Productions has announced the casting for the premier staged reading of Medicine the Musical, a new musical by Michal Ehrenreich. Directed by Rachel Klein with musical director Andy Peterson, Medicine the Musical will be performed at two showings on April 24, 2017 at the Daryl Roth Theater.
