Secret Identity a brand new play by playwright Chris Weikel will debut it's World Premiere at The Flea Theatre on January 9th. The story tackles high school bullying in a witty and provocative way when the protagonist escapes into his comic book world of Super Heroes before learning that being authentic is key to acceptance. Secret Identity bows in previews on January 9th with Opening Night on January 12th. Portland Playhouse kicks off its 11th Season with Will Eno's Wakey, Wakey. Written during Eno's five year residency at New York's Signature Theatre Company, Wakey, Wakey asks What are we here for? Is time a friend or an enemy? Do we all eventually end up in the same place, but take different routes to get there? This funny, moving, and thought-provoking new play challenges the notion of what really matters and recognizes the importance of life's simple pleasures. (All of which might sound dreary, but there's a chance this will be a really good experience.)

The Lortel Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball Center hosted by actor and comedian Taran Killam. This year's event was once again a benefit for The Actors Fund.

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators for media covering New York theatre announced today its award winners for the 2016-17 season in 27 categories.

The world premiere Signature Theatre production of Wakey, Wakey, written and directed by Lucille Lortel and Obie Award-winner Will Eno, opened just last night, February 27, at the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).
