Hobo Johnson Announces Release Date For Sophomore Album

After teasing its impending arrival, acclaimed Sacramento-based maverick Hobo Johnson officially reveals his second full-length album, The Fall of Hobo Johnson, will arrive on September 13th via Reprise Records / Warner Records. Pre-order it HERE. This morning, Zane Lowe exclusively premiered a second track from the album, “Uglykid” (feat. Elohim), as his latest Apple Music “World First” on Beats 1. Tomorrow, Hobo Johnson will make his TV debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers with a special performance of his single 'Typical Story.'

Taylor Swift, Jonas Brothers, Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande Among 2019 MTV VMA Nominees

MTV today unveiled the nominations for the 2019 a?oeVMAs,a?? which includes dozens of artists whose reach and influence have elevated the music industry and global cultural conversation. Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift lead the nominations with 10 nods each in categories including, a?oeVideo of the Year,a?? a?oeSong of the Yeara?? and a?oeBest Pop.a?? Other top contenders include first-time VMA nominees Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X who both entered the category of a?oeBest New Artist,a?? presented by Taco Bell®.  This year's show will introduce two new categories, a?oeBest K-Popa?? and a?oeVideo for Good.a?? 

IFC's DOCUMENTARY NOW to Release 'Co-Op' Original Cast Album

IFC and Lakeshore Records announced today that three-time Emmy-nominated series Documentary Now! has taken its commitment to the comedic artform to new extremes. 'Original Cast Album: Co-op,' the meticulously crafted and 2019 Emmy-nominated episode about the cast album recording of the 1970 'Broadway musical' Co-op, will release its long-awaited Original Cast Album digitally on July 26, with proceeds donated to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The original cast album will include the soon-to-be Marie's Crisis classics 'Holiday Party (I Did a Little Cocaine Tonight),' which will be available as an instant grat track on all preorders beginning Friday, July 19, and solo anthem 'I Gotta Go,' both sure to bring piano bar patrons to their feet with every rising note. IFC will also be publishing sheet music so everyone can make their Co-op sing-along dreams a reality. The song 'Holiday Party (I Did a Little Cocaine Tonight),' with lyrics by John Mulaney & Seth Meyers and music by Eli Bolin was recently nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Original Music & Lyrics.

Guster Covers Labi Siffre's CRYING, LAUGHING, LOVING, LYING

In 1972, London-born musician, poet and openly gay singer-songwriterLabi Siffre released “Crying, Laughing, Loving, Lying,” a tender love ballad that deals squarely with homophobia and racism.  While never having an international hit or labeled a “superstar”, the multi-talented Siffre built a cult following with covers by Rod Stewart and Olivia-Newton John and samples byKanye West, Jay-Z and most famously by Eminem on “My Name Is.”

Ingrid Andress Announces Headlining European Tour

She made her overseas debut at this year's C2C Festival in March, and today breakout singer / songwriter Ingrid Andress announces her return to Europe this fall for her own headlining run. CMA Songwriters Series Announces Phoenix Performance

The Country Music Association's acclaimed CMA Songwriters Series Presented by   U.S. Bank has announced a performance in Phoenix at Mesa Arts Center's Piper Repertory Theater Wednesday, Aug. 21 featuring Lauren Alaina, Ingrid Andress, Marti Lynn Dodson and Mickey Guyton. The series hosts an intimate round of performances with some of Country Music's top songwriters taking turns sharing the stories behind their hit songs and performing them as originally written. Tickets for the performance start at $23 plus service fees and go on sale Friday, July 19 at 12:00 PM/CT through Mesa Arts Center. $1 of each ticket sold will benefit the CMA Foundation, CMA's philanthropic arm, which is committed to improving and sustaining high quality music education programs across the United States.
