As Theatre Memphis closes out it 100th year-long celebration, it will be hosting a May Day Celebration event on April 30, 2022, on the campus at 630 Perkins Ext.

As the first main stage production in Australia in over forty years, Melbourne Opera and IOpera will present a stunning reinterpretation of Kurt Weill, Bertolt Brecht and Elisabeth Hauptmann's The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny at The Athenaeum from 1 May.

The Muny announced today that Laila Fantroy and Gabe Cytron will star as Jane and Michael Banks in the high-flying production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, July 5-13, 2022. Fantroy is a rising eighth grader at Christ the King Catholic School and Cytron is a rising ninth grader at Parkway High School. Both actors are part of the Muny Kids program. Mary Poppins is directed by John Tartaglia, choreographed by Patrick O’Neill, with music direction by Brad Haak. 

The Belgrade Theatre has announced that Midlands writer Frankie Meredith's May Queen, which premiered last summer as part of Paines Plough's Roundabout Season, will be re-staged in-the-round in B2 from Sat 25 June – Sat 2 July.

The highly anticipated Broadway revival of Funny Girl is beginning performances tonight, March 26, at the August Wilson Theatre, ahead of an official opening on April 24. Meet the cast bringing this iconic show back to the stage!

A new play by a female or female identifying writer will be showcased every fortnight. Plays include themes such as female friends finding queer love together later in life, motherhood and knife crime in the black British community, a poetic piece about swimming the channel, and the story of a flight of an unaccompanied refugee boy from a war zone.

Mid afternoon, our tour group meets on the Magic Opera Flying Carpet at Los Angeles Airport (LAX).  We watch LA Opera’s digital short entitled Gallup, or Na'nízhoozhí in Navajo. The scene incorporates the high desert New Mexico landscape and the city famed for Navajo jewelry. Tour members should wear the  biggest and best turquoise they have for the show!

For 10 days at the end of the summer, the award-winning, in-the-round auditorium will be filled with four world premiere plays performed in rep alongside cabaret, comedy, family shows, drag, a host of activities for young people in partnership with Lambeth ELEVATE and a programme of community events.

The Belgrade Theatre has announced that Paines’s Plough’s ROUNDABOUT season 2021 will open in Wood End in Coventry this week, with four world premieres taking place in Paines Plough’s award-winning, portable, in-the-round auditorium, situated in the grounds of the Moat House Leisure and Neighbourhood Centre in Wood End.

Frankie Meredith, a young Midlands playwright, will have two shows running in the region this summer, as part of Coventry UK City of Culture 2021. MAY QUEEN will have its world premiere from 29 July – 8 August as part of the Belgrade and Paines Plough’s Roundabout 2021 season.

Americana singer-songwriter, Trapper Schoepp, is releasing his single “May Day” on Saturday, 5/1/2021, to coincide with the springtime holiday of the same name. The holiday has long been tied to the natural world and ancient agricultural rituals, which is why the Milwaukee singer has also just launched his own line of gardening seeds called “Schoepp Seeds” in conjunction with the album release.

During each episode the bakers must create elegant and delicious baked goods from different states across the country in two rounds – a Master Challenge that tests their mastery of the essential baking techniques and prowess working with specific flavors and ingredients. 

On January 31, 2021, the Workers Circle will present a Yiddish Schmooze featuring Zalmen Mlotek, the Artistic Director at the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene, which presented the award-winning Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish and whose parents were integral members of the Workers Circle and passionate proponents of Yiddish culture.

NewYorkRep has commissioned  May Day, a new ten-minute, mini-musical by award-winning collaborators Melissa Li & Kit Yan, inspired by the mistaken missile emergency alert set off in Hawaii in 2018.
