Best known for their work on Dear Evan Hansen, La La Land, and The Greatest Showman, Pasek and Paul have written new original songs performed by Shawn Mendes, Javier Bardem, and Constance Wu, with contributions from Mendes, Ari Afsar, Emily Gardner Xu Hall, Mark Sonnenblick, and Joriah Kwamé.

The cast of the movie musical includes  Will Ferrell, Ryan Reynolds, Octavia Spencer, Patrick Page, Sunita Mani, Loren Woods, Joe Tippett, Marlow Barkley, and Jen Tullock. Spirited, an upcoming movie musical adaption of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, has added Sukari Jones, Khiyon Hursey and Mark Sonnenblick, as new songwriters to join Pasek and Paul in writing original music for the film. Midnight at The Never Get begins as a cabaret act that transforms into a love story and concludes as a meditation on the way we grieve our past selves. The entire show takes place in a 1960s nightclub where things are not quite as they seem: the star of the act, singer Trevor Copeland (Sam Bolen, who also co-conceived the show), has died, and he's chosen to spend his afterlife inside a cabaret of songs and stories. We are the audience to Trevor's memories as he takes us on a journey through a chapter of his past in which he performed in a nightclub routine with the love of his life, songwriter Arthur Brightman (Christian Douglas).

With book, music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson grant winner Mark Sonnenblick, Midnight at The Never Get features the performance of a lifetime from a 1960s underground gay nightclub in Greenwich Village.

Signature Theatre has announced the full lineup for Signature Theatre’s 2021 Signature Features season, five fully-staged plays and musicals, made exclusively for the screen and professionally filmed in HD on set (multiple safety protocols were employed to ensure artists’ and crew’s safety).

New American musical in development Letters to the President has released a music video of “So Far to Go,” written by Ronvé O’Daniel and Jevares Myrick. The video is now streaming online as part of O’Daniel and Myrick’s newly launched Composer and Lyricist Artist Channel on Broadway on Demand.

The hardships COVID-19 have caused for songwriters and performers has prompted The Kurt Weill Foundation to provide financial support to participants chosen for the Lotte Lenya Competition Songbook, a new collection of sixteen contemporary theater songs by nineteen emerging writers.
