Signature Theatre has announced casting and the creative team for The Young Man from Atlanta, the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by two-time Academy Award winner and former Signature Residency One Playwright Horton Foote, directed by Michael Wilson. Tickets, priced at $35 thanks to the Signature Ticket Initiative, are on sale now for the production, which runs November 5 to December 8, 2019 with a Sunday, November 24th opening night in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

Variety reports that Peter Capaldi has officially joined 'The Suicide Squad,' a DC sequel from 'Guardians of the Galaxy' director James Gunn. 'Saturday Night Live''s Pete Davidson is also reportedly in talks to join the cast. 

The League of Professional Theatre Women (Shellen Lubin and Catherine Porter, Co-Presidents), an organization which has been championing women in the professional theatre for over three decades, will launch their 37th season of programming, events, and advocacy, with a special event on Wednesday, September 25 at Theaterlab (357 West 36th Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10018). Pre-reception networking will begin at 6:30pm. The event will officially kick-off at 7pm, followed by post-reception networking from 9pm-9:30pm.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) today announced last season's a?oe2 Tickets for $40a?? special, created last year in honor of its 40th Anniversary Season, will continue for the 2019-20 Season, which opens September 11 with Tiny Beautiful Things. The theatre will also introduce a subscription for students and expand its discount periods for educators and military families.

According to Deadline, Nathan Fillion will appear in the upcoming film, The Suicide Squad. His role has yet to be revealed.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) today announced the cast for the buoyant Tiny Beautiful Things, Nia Vardalos' stage adaptation of The New York Times' bestseller Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar by Cheryl Strayed, directed by Jen Wineman, from September 11 to October 6 at the Nancy L. Donahue Theatre, according to Executive Director Bonnie J. Butkas and Interim Artistic Director Terry Berliner.

Deadline reports that Damon Herriman has joined Barry Jenkins' (Moonlight) adaptation of Colson Whitehead's novel 'Underground Railroad.' The story centers on young Cora, a slave on a cotton plantation in Georgia. Life is hell for all the slaves, but especially bad for Cora; an outcast even among her fellow Africans, she is coming into womanhood—where even greater pain awaits. When Caesar, a recent arrival from Virginia, tells her about the Underground Railroad, they decide to take a terrifying risk and escape.

This fall the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) celebrates the work and career of the great French actress Isabelle Adjani with the CinéSalon series Magnetic Gaze: Isabelle Adjani on Screen. Running each Tuesday from September 10 to October 29, this series honors one of France's greatest actresses, lauded for the unparalleled intensity and sensuality she brought to roles that inspired multiple generations of directors. Adjani, who began her acting career on the stage at the Comédie-Française, will also be performing at FIAF in Opening Night(Sept 12–14), which will be presented as part of the Crossing the Line Festival.
