Casting Set for Dominique Morisseau's PIPELINE at Studio Theatre

Casting is set for Studio Theatre's production of Pipeline, playwright Dominique Morisseau's searing drama about the school-to-prison pipeline and a mother desperately trying to keep her son from becoming ensnared in it. The production runs January 15-February 16, 2020 and is directed by Awoye Timpo. Starring are DC theatre favorite Justin Weaks (Studio's Curve of Departure) as high school student Omari and Andrea Harris Smith making her Studio debut as his mother, public school teacher Nya. In its recent People Issue, Washington City Paper's called Weaks a 'standout,' going on to say: 'D.C. theater audiences love Justin Weaks. ...Weaks came to D.C. for a job about four years ago, not expecting to stay. But he kept getting cast in shows, and lucky for local theatergoers, he's still here.'

Caveat NYC Presents I LOVE WHITE MEN By Sim Yan Ying 'YY'

Caveat NYC will present Sim Yan Ying's I LOVE WHITE MEN on January 24 - 26, 2020 at Caveat NYC at 21 A Clinton Street. Show times are January 24 at 7pm, January 25 at 1:30pm & 7pm, and January 26 at 7pm. Tickets are available for advance purchase at $20 at caveat.nyc, and $22 at the door.

Kate Robards Returns to The Marsh San Francisco with POLYSHAMORY

Writer/performer Kate Robards (Ain't That Rich) returns to The Marsh San Francisco with her latest hit PolySHAMory. Kate has everything she's ever dreamed of...but so does Kate's husband's girlfriend. With a polyamory therapist and sex-positive ethos, Kate begins a polyamorous marriage that goes wrong. A story of his and her. And hers. And his. And sex. And therapy. And love. The show, which was previewed as a Marsh Rising last year, has received accolades from media across the country, calling it 'hilarious and heartbreaking' (The Washington Post) and 'an audience-grabbing confessional' (DC Theatre Scene). Firehouse to Produce East Coast Premiere of STUPID KID

Firehouse will produce the east coast premiere of Sharr White's play STUPID KID. Performances begin Thursday, January 23, 2020 for a limited run of eleven performances thru Sunday, February 16, 2020.

Matthew Broderick, Sarah Jessica Parker and Brian Stokes Mitchell to Be Honored at The Actors Fund Annual Gala

The Actors Fund, the national human services organization for everyone in performing arts and entertainment, will hold its Annual Gala on Monday, April 6, 2020. The evening will celebrate Tony Award-winning actor Matthew Broderick and Emmy Award-winning actor, producer and designer Sarah Jessica Parker; Tony Award-winning actor and Chairman of The Actors Fund Brian Stokes Mitchell; Academy Award-winning producer, co-owner of the New York Football Giants, and philanthropist Steve Tisch; and American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) President Richard L. Trumka as they receive The Actors Fund's Medal of Honor.

The top growing current Broadway musicals were Jagged Little Pill (12.51%), Beetlejuice (2.16%), Ain't Too Proud (1.60%), Frozen (1.40%) and Oklahoma! (1.07%). The top growing current Broadway plays were Slave Play (7.28%), A Christmas Carol (5.25%), Darren Brown: Secret (3.82%), American Utopia (3.57%) and Betrayal (2.88%).

PUMPGIRL Is Extended For Two More Weeks

Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director and Ciarán O'Reilly, Producing Director) announced today a two-week extension for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize winning-play Pumpgirl, by Abbie Spallen (Strandline), directed by Nicola Murphy (Stop/Over). Pumpgirl began performances in the W. Scott McLucas Studio Theatre (132 W 22nd Street, New York, NY 10011) on November 7 and opened November 14. Originally set to close on December 29, 2019, it will now play an extended run through January 12, 2020.

The Barrow Group to Present World Premiere of Scott Organ's 17 MINUTES

SIMPLY BARBRA: A CHRISTMAS SHOW Returns to The Green Room 42 on December 11

THE GREEN ROOM 42 - the new intimate concert venue dubbed Broadway's 'off-night hotspot' by The New York Times - will present Steven Brinberg in 'Simply Barbra: A Christmas Show,' the annual holiday edition of his acclaimed all-live homage to the legendary Barbra Streisand, on Wednesday, December 11 at 8:00 PM. The evening celebrates both Christmas and Hannukah, featuring holiday classics from Streisand's two Christmas albums, plus some of her biggest hits. Sam Gravitte (Wicked, Almost Famous) will be Brinberg's special musical guest. Christopher Denny will serve as Music Director.
