Red Bull Theater has announced details for the next presentation of its 20th Anniversary Festival: OR, WHAT SHE WILL by Liz Duffy Adams, directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch.

It’s amazing that the current production of Or, a play directed by Zoe Burke at Santa Fe Playhouse, was a second choice to the playwright’s Born With Teeth, playing in repertory right now (review to follow in a few weeks). I have yet to see Born With Teeth, but was thrilled to see Or, this week.

ArtsWest will produce Born with Teeth as the third production in their 2023-2024 Season. Written by Liz Duffy Adams and directed by Artistic Director, Mathew Wright, this two-hander features Michael Monicatti as Christopher Marlowe and Ricky Spaulding as William Shakespeare. Richmond Shakespeare will debut the East Coast premiere of Liz Duffy Adams' Born with Teeth. The production will run from January 25 through February 11, 2024.

'I think I write parts that actors want to play. Because, in a way, I'm writing parts that I would want to play. It's this sort of language and storytelling and character-driven nature of my work, even as you know, the heart is the humanity of it. And I think that's attractive to actors, and hence to directors and audience.'

First staged Off-Broadway at The Public Theater in 2005, THE LAST DAYS is set in Hope, a corner of Purgatory, where a trial is being held to determine Judas' fate: should he ascend to Heaven, or remain in Hell for his crime of betraying Jesus?

Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 pm, and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Tickets to all performances are "Pay-What-You-Can." The talents of 36 Mercer County artists will be on display at the Gallery at Mercer County Community College (MCCC) in 'Mercer County Artists 2019,' which opens Monday, May 20 and runs through Monday, July 8.
