Hub Theatre Co's PETER AND THE STARCATCHER Opens Next Week

Hub Theatre Company of Boston will close its critically acclaimed sixth season with the five-time Tony Award-winning play Peter and The Starcatcher by Rick Elice, with music by Wayne Barker, based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. The show will be directed by award winning local favorite Sarah Gazdowicz, with music direction by Bethany Aiken, and will run Friday, November 2 through Saturday, November 17, 2018 at First Church Boston, 66 Marlborough Street in Boston's Back Bay. Performances are Thursdays at 7:30 pm, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, and Sundays at 5 pm. All performances are Pay-What-You-Can. IRNE award winner and recipient of the 2018 Bob Jolly Award director Sarah Gazdowicz (Roxbury) along with music director Bethany Aiken (Malden) lead a cast of some of the area's finest actors, including: Liz Adams (IRNE award winner-Medford), Valera Bamgbala (Boston), Michael John Ciszewski (Somerville), Lindsay Eagle (IRNE and Elliot Norton award winner-Roxbury), Lauren Elias (IRNE award nominee-Brookline), Molly Kimmerling (IRNE award winner-Somerville), Claire Koenig (Allston), David Makransky (Natick), Bob Mussett (IRNE award nominee-Roxbury), Robert Orzalli (IRNE award nominee-Brighton), Joey C. Pelletier (IRNE award winner-Boston) and Jon Vellante (North Andover). Additionally, Jacob Grigolia-Rosenbaum, the fight choreographer for the original Tony Award-winning production of Peter and The Starcatcher, NBC's Peter Pan Live, and The Roundabout Theatre's Cyrano de Bergerac joins the team as stage combat consultant and instructor for this production.

Peter and The Starcatcher premiered on Broadway on April 15, 2012 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre and ran for 319 performances and 18 previews. The play is based on the 2006 children's novel, Peter and the Starcatchers, written by Pulitzer Prize winner and humorist Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. The story, which is a prequel of sorts to J.M. Barrie's Peter and Wendy, was adapted by Rick Elice (Jersey Boys, Addams Family) into an award-winning Broadway show. Peter and The Starcatcher won five Tony Awards and eight Lucille Lortel, Drama Desk, Tina, Obie and the Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards.
