Deadline reports that 'Transparent' creator Jill Soloway will direct a new biopic about Sally Ride, the first American woman in space.

HBO Max cordially invites you into the opulent, over-the-top world of the Ho family with a series order for a new docu-series from Lionsgate TV, The Ho's (working title). The inaugural season of this comedic, full-hearted doc style series in the spirit of Crazy Rich Asians will include 8 thirty-minute episodes.

This week, Publishers Marketplace revealed that Lionsgate scooped up acquisition rights for all nine volumes of Jacqueline Carey's beloved high fantasy series Kushiel's Legacy. 

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network's hit primetime drama series “Ambitions” from record-breaking Hollywood producer Will Packer returns for its midseason premiere on Tuesday, November 12 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT to bring back #TemptationTuesdays. The series is produced for OWN by Will Packer Media in association with Lionsgate and its producer-distributor Debmar-Mercury.

Greg Silverman's Stampede and Peter Lawson's Steel Springs Pictures announced today that they will produce and co-finance the feature film ALICE, which Krystin Ver Linden will direct from her original screenplay. The film will mark Stampede's second feature to go into production and the first feature made under Peter Lawson's Steel Springs Pictures banner. Filming is due to commence in Louisiana in early 2020.   

Showtime has passed on Lin-Manuel Miranda's television series adaptation of The Kingkiller Chronicle, according to Deadline. Miranda is the executive producer on the series, which is based on the bestselling Patrick Rothfuss book series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO Max is interested in an upcoming drama series that will see Academy Award-winner Joan Cusack starring as famous TV chef Julia Child.

Variety reports that Janice Min has left new streaming service Quibi, which plans to launch in April of 2020. She is one of several executives to leave the company in the past several months.
