Ferocious Lotus Theatre Company names May Liang as its new Artistic Director, effective September 2019. Previously the company's Literary Manager, Liang succeeds Founding Artistic Director Lily Tung Crystal, who is stepping down to become the Artistic Director of Theater Mu in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. Tung Crystal remains part of Ferocious Lotus as co-founder and artistic director emeritus.

Due to critical and box office success, California Shakespeare Theater extends The Good Person of Szechwan by Bertolt Brecht, adapted by Tony Kushner from a translation by Wendy Arons, through July 28, 2019 at the Bruns Amphitheater. Lily Tung Crystal, Co-Founder and Founding Artistic Director of Ferocious Lotus Theatre Company, will be stepping down from her nine-year position in August to become the new Artistic Director at Theater Mu in the Twin Cities. Ferocious Lotus will be appointing a new artistic director later this summer. To support Ferocious Lotus and the new artistic director through this transition, Crystal will continue as the company's Founder and Artistic Director Emeritus.

California Shakespeare Theater continues its 2019 summer season with The Good Person of Szechwan by Bertolt Brecht, translated by Wendy Arons and adapted by Tony Kushner, playing July 3 through July 21, 2019 at the Bruns Amphitheater. But the deal isn't the only thing lost in translation as he tangles with a government official, a bumbling consultant, and a surprisingly sexy bureaucrat along the way.
