LAByrinth Theater Company will launch into its 30th Anniversary season with the return of The Barn Series 2023, an annual festival featuring a full roster of new plays, and Día Y Noche, a world premiere production written by David Anzuelo (Shared Sentences) and directed by Carlos Armesto (The Who’s Tommy).

Now in its tenth season of supporting emerging writers The Farm Theater has awarded their 2023/24 College Collaboration Project Commission to playwright Dipti Bramhandkar.

La Jolla Playhouse has announced the dates and projects for its 2022 DNA New Work Series, running December 1 – 12 in the Playhouse’s Rao and Padma Makineni Play Development Center.

Durango PlayFest today announced the three plays that will headline its play development festival, August 4-7, 2022, as well as a community event that rounds out this year's schedule. After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, City Theatre announce the return of the Momentum New Play Festival (Momentum '22). To be held in-person on its South Side campus from May 16 – 21, 2022, the festival features public readings of three new plays in progress as well as a playwright's “open mic.”

Vivid Stage, formerly Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, in residence at Oakes Center at 120 Morris Avenue in Summit, will present its annual Meet the Artist new play reading series on Wednesdays, May 4, 11, 18 and 25. All readings will take place at the Oakes Center at 7:30 pm.

Premiere Stages, the professional theatre company in residence at Kean University, has selected its four finalists for the 2022 Premiere Play Festival. Now in its 17th year, the Festival is an annual competition for unproduced scripts that offers developmental opportunities to playwrights with strong affiliations to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware. The Blank Theatre's Living Room Series has announced a reading of The Lucky Ones by Lia Romeo on Monday, January 10, at 8pm. Directed by Christopher James Raymond, the cast will feature (in alphabetical order) Robyn Cohen, Lizzie Peet, and Adam J. Smith.

The readings will include:  Michael Bias* & Kevin Cristaldi* reading a scene from Dredded Bliss, Debbie Bernstein* reading Looking Back by Lia Romeo, Valerie Stack Dodge* reading Madness & Mayo by Valerie Stack Dodge, Bess Miller reading Unknown Caller by Dan O'Brien, Cynthia Grandville* reading I Scream by Perry Guzzi, and more!

NJ Rep will present its first outdoor short play festival on Saturday, August 28 and Sunday, August 29 at 2pm and 5pm. The performances are free and will be held at their West End Arts Center, 132 West End Avenue, Long Branch. There is free parking in their lot off of Sairs Avenue.
