People's Light (Abbey Adams, Executive Artistic Director; Zak Berkman, Producing Director) is presenting Jeanne Sakata's Award winning solo play, Hold These Truths, based on the inspiring true story of Gordon Hirabayashi.

Alan Muraoka and 'Sesame Street' Muppeteers Jennifer Barnhart and Kathy Kim delighted children and their parents as they shared traditions of the Lunar New Year in the Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium during two performances at The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Lunar New Year Festival celebrating the Year of the Rat on February 1, 2020. Hadestown star André De Shields took his Lincoln Center's American Songbook concert series audience to church with his new show, Old Dawg; New Tricks on the Appel Stage in New York on January 29.

One would hope that ANDRE DE SHIELDS: OLD DAWG; NEW TRICKS would find the theatrical life it deserves beyond this one concert. The story of JELLY and what has become of him is not just one for all, but one for the ages.

Triple crown winner of the 2019 Broadway Awards Season André De Shields joins The Broadway Concert Series Presented by Vi at Aventura on Wednesday, March 11 at 8 p.m.  De Sheilds replaces Tommy Tune who was forced to cancel his performance on that date due to unforeseen circumstances.

Last night was the premiere of John Mulaney & The Sack Lunch Bunch in New York City. The musical special's creator and star John Mulaney was in attendance alongside the The Sack Lunch Bunch children, guest stars David Byrne, Annaleigh Ashford, and Andre De Shields and special guests Mike Birbiglia and Nick Kroll.

Three-time Tony Award winning Director Jack O'Brien presented Actor André De Shields, who celebrated the 50th year of his acting career in 2019 by scoring his first Tony Award, for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical for his role as Hermes in Hadestown, with the 2019 Father George Moore Artistic Impact Award at Encore Ovation – A Celebration of Aging Through Art at Sardi's on November 18. O'Brien directed De Shields in The Full Monty and Impression on Broadway.
