Theatre Calgary is set to bring Calgary's festive tradition, A Christmas Carol, back to the stage starting on November 30. Now in its 35th year, their production of Charles Dickens' timeless tale of greed, ghosts, and redemption is a must in the annual holiday celebrations for thousands of families in their city.

Maria (Leticia Dolera) finds it harder to connect with her baby than she ever would have imagined. Though Pablo (Font García) is back in love with Cris (Celia Freijeiro), Cris searches restlessly for the ultimate adventure. Esther’s (Aixa Villagrán) wedding with her partner Julia is coming up but she has to tell her that she’s not ready yet.

La Secretaría de Cultura del Gobierno de México y el Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL), a través de la Coordinación Nacional de Literatura (CNL), en conjunto con el Gobierno del estado de Durango, por medio del Instituto de Cultura estatal (ICED), entregaron de manera virtual el Premio Bellas Artes de Ensayo Literario José Revueltas 2021 al escritor Gabriel Bernal Granados por su obra Historias, firmada bajo el seudónimo de “Kárlovich”.  

Belvoir has announced the productions making up its 2022 season. Next year sees nine plays (and one repertory season) take to the stage to introduce some astonishing new stage talent.

One of the most famous stories in universal literature will take Sao Paulo stage. Cinderella, o Musical premieres on September 2, at Teatro Liberdade, after being seen by more than 200,000 people in its previous productions. With Fabi Bang spearheading the new cast, Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella has original direction and a Brazilian version by Charles Moeller and Claudio Botelho, with Vanessa Costa signing the direction of the revival. The show returns in a big way, bringing names like Andre Loddi (Prince Topher), Gottsha (Stepmother), Helga Nemetik (Fairy Godmother), Diego Montez (Jean Michel), in a cast of 22 actors. The production is by Touche Entertainment.

The Balboa Art Conservation Center, the western region's nonprofit art conservation center, will welcome Cultural Strategist, Andrea “Angie” Chandler to support the organization's recent shift into Inclusion as its Audience and Engagement Specialist.  Chandler joined the BACC team on May 25th, 2021.

Society for the Performing Arts' celebrated its 2021 Arts Forward  Gala on Saturday, April 17, 2021 via livestream from the Wortham Theater. Gala Co-Chairs Leah  Bennett, Mari Salazar, and Charlene and Tym Tombar welcomed over two hundred guests for a festive  evening of music and live auction excitement in support of the arts.  

San Jose Stage Company, in collaboration with African-American Shakespeare Company, has extended STRANGE COURTESIES. The play will now be available to stream through March 8, 2021.
