This release marks the veteran vocalist’s 60th anniversary as a recording artist, and her first album in over a decade. Recorded at the legendary New York jazz boite in September 2019, she was joined by an all-star trio, including the late Mike Renzi on piano, Jay Leonhart on bass, and Scott Hamilton on saxophone. Ogunquit Playhouse is growing its educational initiatives by launching the Arts Academy. Already an integral component of the Playhouse's mission, the educational initiatives currently in place will be greatly expanded to build upon the legacy left by founder Walter Hartwig, a strong proponent of community theater with a passion for teaching theater craft to aspiring professionals.

Ogunquit Playhouse is launching the Arts Academy program with the belief that theater is a profound tool for students to not only exercise their imagination but to discover their innate skill set.

Roald Dahl’s CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY - The New Musical, currently playing at Austin’s Bass Concert Hall as part of the Broadway In Austin series, is fantastic fun for the whole family.

The touring production of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and The Chocolate Factory seems an unlikely place to find  inspiration in reconciling the events of the world’s political stage, but when viewed in the context of the current sociopolitical climate, it seems possible. The lyrics of the song “Pure Imagination” appear to map out the catalyst for social change. “If you want to view paradise, simply look around and view it. Anything you want to, do it. Want to change the world? There’s nothing to it.”   The simplicity of that philosophy in song was written over the course of  a phone conversation between the composers Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley over 50 years ago. 

As part of its Broadway Series sponsored by U.S. Bank, Alberta Bair Theater presents the everlasting showstopper Roald Dahl's Charlie and The Chocolate Factory on Wednesday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m.

The Whole Backstage Theatre will present Willy Wonka, Jr. this summer. The musical features words and music by  Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, and is adapted for the stage by Leslie Bricusse and Timothy A. McDonald, based on the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.

Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY will play in St. Louis at the Fabulous Fox Theatre for four performance only March 8-10, 2022.

Broadway Records announced today the release of “The Four Phantoms In Concert”.  The digital album is available Friday, January 14th wherever digital music is sold. Preorders are now available for the physical CD to be released late this winter.
