Esteemed singer-songwriter and musician Gordon Lightfoot comes to the Holland Performing Center Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 8:00 PM.

While appearing on Consequence of Sound's Kyle Meredith With… podcast Friday, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter announced plans to release a new and final album in 2019. 

Totem Pole Playhouse, America's beloved summer theatre located in Caledonia State Park between Gettysburg and Chambersburg, PA, will present the murder mystery musical, Murder for Two, beginning with three low-cost $20.00 preview performances this Friday at 8pm and Saturday at 2pm and 8pm. The show will run for two weeks from July 8th thru the 22nd. Audiences who attend the opening performance on Sunday at 2pm are invited to greet the cast and share in refreshments after the performance in the tent beside the Playhouse as part of their admission that day. The production is being sponsored by F&M Trust.

Single tickets to Florida Repertory Theatre's 2018-2019 Season will go on sale Tuesday, July 17 online at www.FloridaRep.org and through the box office at 239-332-4488. Tickets are priced at $55 and $45 for regular performances, and $35 and $25 for previews.

It's hot down here in Valdosta! And that's not just the heat from the Georgia sun in June we're feeling. It's the heat emanating from the Peach State Summer Theatre's production of Million Dollar Quartet. The musical revue, playing this summer in repertory with Disney's Newsies and Hello, Dolly!, recreates the legendary jam session at Sun Records, a session that marks the only time that rock and roll giants Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash were ever assembled in the same room. The tuner is little moas re than an excuse to play a catalogue of some of the most popular rock and roll songs of all time, but when music sounds as good as it does here, that's alright. That's alright!

A World Celebration as an expression of cultural enlightenment and unification in the borough.Dance Brooklyn!, formerly titled 'East New York in Motion,' is set to return for it's fourth annual year as a platform to create respect, understanding, and appreciation among people of various backgrounds in Brooklyn. Participating dance companies include Asase Yaa Cultural Arts Dance Theater, Something Positive, Ninja Ballet, Allure Latin Dance Company, Purelements, an Evolution in Dance, Darrah Carr Dance company member and TONY award winner, Trent Kowalik, plus a spoken word performance by poet Jaime Lee Lewis. The 2-hour event will feature modern, West African, Afro-Caribbean, salsa, contemporary and ballet x martial arts fusion dance performances.

Playwright Suzie Miller was announced as the winner of the 2018 Griffin Award for her play On the Face of It at the SBW Stables Theatre today. Accepting the award from Griffin's Artistic Director Lee Lewis and Jane Curry of Copyright Agency, Miller said: "It's such a joy just to be nominated, especially with the plays I was nominated alongside. I'd been nominated once before but to win is astonishing, and it shows that the whole journey is worth it. The thing for playwrights in this country is really just keeping at it. To all the other playwrights and playwrights to-be out there like I once was: if you're passionate about it, keep doing it."

Songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, composers of some of the greatest blues, jazz, R&B, and rock and roll hits of all time, will be inducted into the American Jazz Walk of Fame in Kansas City, MO today, June 2.  Their names will be embedded in a bronze medallion on the sidewalk near the Jazz Museum.

Sierra Repertory Theatre will delight audiences of all ages this summer with Disney's Beauty and the Beast, one of modern musical theatre's biggest hits. The independent Belle, trapped in her provincial town, finds her life turned upside down as she takes her father's place as a captive in an enchanted castle ruled by an angry Beast. With help from the creatures in the castle and her own kindheartedness, Belle finds the prince inside the Beast and works to break the magic that permeates the mysterious castle and all of its inhabitants. A fantastically enjoyable adventure, this classic musical love story is filled with unforgettable characters and dazzling production numbers, including: "Be Our Guest" and the beloved title song.

As last season's closer, Geva Theatre Center's production of Million Dollar Quartet was a complete sell-out and was extended for an additional week. By popular demand, the show is back for a limited run, special production in the Elaine P. Wilson Stage from June 14 to July 8. With a book by Floyd Mutrux and Colin Escott, based on an original concept by Floyd Mutrux and inspired by the music of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins, Million Dollar Quartet is directed by Hunter Foster.

Songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, whose classic song 'Stand By Me' just received worldwide acclaim for its climactic performance at the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, will be inducted into the American Jazz Walk of Fame in Kansas City, MO on Saturday, June 2. Their names will be embedded in a bronze medallion on the sidewalk near the Jazz Museum. Their 1952 song classic '(Going to) Kansas City' is now considered to be the city's anthem.
