Twenty-four high school students* from across the Greater Kansas City Metro area have been chosen as semifinalists for the 2016 KC SuperStar, a high school singing competition.

On Wednesday, April 6, 2016, the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) welcomed more than 250 of New York City's top cultural and community leaders, philanthropists, celebrities and art aficionados to the YoungArts New York Inaugural Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Temple of Dendur in the Sackler Wing. The sold-out evening raised nearly half a million dollars and celebrated the organization's 35 years of support and lasting impact on young talent in the cultural capital of New York and across the nation. Presented in collaboration with luxury brand Swarovski, the event was hosted by honorary co-chairs and YoungArts artistic advisors Mikhail Baryshnikov, Artistic Director of the Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC), and renowned opera singer Pla?cido Domingo, as well as gala co-chairs Sarah Arison and Agnes Gund.

'Be our guest' at Hale Center Theater Orem's production of 'Beauty and the Beast Jr.'! Performed entirely by young actors, this production puts the famous Disney musical on an intimate center stage. 'Beauty and the Beast Jr.' tells the story of a prince transformed into a beast because of his selfishness. Beast must love and be loved in return by his twenty-first birthday for the spell to be broken, or else he will stay a beast forever. Will Beast ever be loved? Can the intelligent village girl Belle see through his rough appearance to his heart, or will Beast stay a monster forever? Come to Hale Center Theater Orem's production of 'Beauty and the Beast Jr.' to enjoy this 'tale as old as time' performed by a new generation of acting talent.
Disney Channel Orders New Series BEST FRIEND WHENEVER

Disney Channel has ordered the comedy series 'Best Friends Whenever,' starring Landry Bender (Disney XD's 'Crash & Bernstein') as Cyd, newcomer Lauren Taylor as Shelby and Gus Kamp ('Deadtime Stories: The Beast of Baskerville') as Barry. Production begins in March for a premiere later this year.

AwesomenessTV has re-invented classic cartoon character Richie Rich for the modern world in a new live action half-hour comedy series, Richie Rich, which will be exclusively available for Netflix members in the US, Canada and Latin America beginning early 2015.

The Frist Center for the Visual arts will open Young Tennessee Artists: 2010 Statewide Advanced Placement Studio Art Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, in the Conte Community Arts Gallery. This third bi-annual exhibition showcases the artwork of 33 high school students who were enrolled in Advanced Placement (AP) Studio Art programs throughout Tennessee in 2010. The 40 drawings, paintings, photographs and mixed-media works represent eleven schools and were chosen from seven hundred submissions from across the state. The exhibition, organized by the Frist Center, will continue through April 10, 2011.
