Premiering on October 23, DREAMBOY is the creation of storyteller, performer and composer Dane Terry, and Ellie Heyman, who was a co-director and co-developer of The Orbiting Human Circus (of the Air) podcast.  Set over a few flickering nights in Cleveland, DREAMBOY is a mystery about dreams, unexplained deaths, relentless change, and the parts of ourselves that we wish other people knew to look for.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 2018/19 season with Native Gardens, a cutting-edge suburban comedy from America's hottest new playwright and National Latino Playwriting Award winner, Karen Zacarias. When an up-and-coming Latino couple purchases a home in a sought-after neighborhood beside the prize-winning garden of a prominent Washington D.C. family, conflicts over fences and flora spiral into an uproarious clash of cultures, exposing both couples' notions of race, taste, class, and privilege. On the heels of having won the 2018 Regional Theater Tony Award, LA MAMA Experimental Theatre Club (ETC) announces its 57th season of productions, according to Mia Yoo, the company's artistic director. The season includes over 50 U.S., NYC and world premiere productions.

brooklynONE productions (bkONE) is currently in production of a revival of 1971's Godspell.

La Mama E.T.C. has won the 2018 Tony Award for Regional Theatre Award.

Martyrs, written by Romana Soutus and developed with and directed by Pirronne Yousefzadeh, will premiere at The Downstairs at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club, April 19 - May 6, Thursday to Saturday at 7 PM, Sunday at 2 PM. A devised ensemble piece performed by a female cast of nine, Martyrs dives into the dynamics of martyrdom, sainthood, self-worth, and desire.

On March 8-18, Bother Line, an original Nettles Artists Collective (NAC)-produced one-woman performance created by actress Gio Mielle, will re-emerge at the Tank. Bother Line will have a seven-show stretch and will kick off Women's History Month on International Women's Day. The solo performance shines a light on the microaggressions that weaken and destroy women and culture.

'Distant Observer: Tokyo/New York Correspondence' is a collaboration between Japanese playwright/director Takeshi Kawamura and American playwright/director John Jesurun. The project is conceived as a play written and directed in collaborative partnership by both artists. Written in sequential chapters by each playwright, it combines two noted and formative artists of the same generation, both with distinct voices and significant work, in a deep creative conversation across cultures. Its plot follows a supposed murderer who reinvents himself, and is reinvented by circumstance, in a series of adventures in the Suicide Forest of Japan.  La MaMa will present the play's world premiere, directed by Jesurun, March 16 to April 1 in its Ellen Stewart Theatre, 66 East Fourth Street.

On November 17 and 18, 7 p.m., performer Gio Mielle and theater director Debora Balardini will officially premiere Bother Line, an original one-woman performance produced by Nettles Artists Collective (NAC). With topics befitting contemporary gender-based issues, Bother Line's solo performance is an original piece created and conceptualized by Gio Mielle.

Broadway actor Corey Mach, seen in Hands on a Hardbody and Godspell, as well as on tour in Wicked, Rent and Flashdance, will hold a masterclass on October 29 centered on the musical theater audition. He is currently in Cleveland starring as Quasimodo in Great Lakes Theatre's acclaimed production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

When their current engagement at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club concludes this weekend, members of the Belarus Free Theatre will return to their homeland, where they and their audience members can be arrested by the Belarussian K.G.B. for creating and attending a play.
