Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, continues its 2012-2013 season with Matthew Lopez's The Whipping Man, directed by Kimberly Senior. The production will run at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie, from January 18-February 24, 2013. The Press Opening is Friday, January 25, at 7:30 pm.
Due to a delay in the start of technical rehearsals caused by last week's storm, Lincoln Center Theater has announced that its been forced to postpone previews, by one night, of its 75th Anniversary production of the Clifford Odets classic GOLDEN BOY, directed by Bartlett Sher. Previews will now begin this Friday, November 9 at 8pm, having been originally scheduled to begin Thursday, November 8. Opening night for GOLDEN BOY will remain as originally scheduled, on Thursday, December 6 at 6:45pm, at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44 Street), the same theatre where the play premiered in 1937. Ticket holders to the November 8 performance should return their tickets to their point of purchase for a refund or exchange.
The Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 production of DISGRACED, the new play by Ayad Akhtar, directed by Kimberly Senior, has been extended for a second time through Sunday, December 23 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street). The production, which features Heidi Armbruster, Erik Jensen, Aasif Mandvi, Omar Maskati and Karen Pittman, was originally scheduled to run through November 18 and was then extended through Sunday December 2. DISGRACED is produced by arrangement with the Araca Group.
Writers' Theatre continues its season with the Midwest premiere of The Letters by John W. Lowell, directed by Kimberly Senior. The production runs November 13, 2012 - March 3, 2013 and will be performed at Books on Vernon - 664 Vernon Ave, Glencoe. Lincoln Center Theater has announced that is has been forced to cancel tonight's (Sunday, October 28) 7pm performance of the LCT3 production of DISGRACED at the Claire Tow Theater due to the incoming storm and the shutdown of the New York City transit system tonight at 7pm. Today's 2pm matinee of DISGRACED will be performed as scheduled.

Erik Jensen will join the cast of the LCT3 production of Disgraced, a new play by Ayad Akhtar, directed by Kimberly Senior, beginning tonight, Wednesday, October 10. Mr. Jensen will assume the role of Isaac from Adam Dannheisser, who is recovering from an illness which forced him to withdraw from the production. Disgraced began previews Sunday, October 7 and will open on Monday, October 22 for a limited engagement at the Claire Tow Theater, 150 West 65 Street.
LCT3, Lincoln Center Theater's programming initiative devoted to producing the work of new artists and developing new audiences, has announced two new productions which will open in 2013: Luck of the Irish, a new play by Kirsten Greenidge, to be directed by Rebecca Taichman and A Kid Like Jake by Daniel Pearle, to be directed by Evan Cabnet. Luck of the Irish will run from Monday, January 28 through Sunday, March 10 (opening on Monday, February 11) and A Kid Like Jake will run from Sunday, June 2 through Sunday, July 14 (opening on Monday, June 17), both at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street).
