Two presentations of the 29 hour reading for a brand new musical will be held at Open Jar Studios at 11am and 3:30pm. The reading is directed by Laurie Glodowski and produced by 35th Parallel Productions.

This year's plays examine the intersection of racism and sexism across romance and desire, and the toll these crosses exact on the hearts, minds, and bodies of people of color. This year's featured playwrights are Cherry Lou Sy (Nominee, Cherry Lane Mentor Project), Garrett David Kim (Finalist, Blue Ink Playwriting Award), and Ray Yamanouchi (Semi-Finalist, IMPACT-O'Neill National Playwrights Conference).

GREEN ROOM 42 will present The Dogs of Pripyat in concert on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 7:00PM, as part of the GR42 New Works Series. Inspired by the true story of the abandoned dogs of Chernobyl who learned to survive and even thrive under unimaginable circumstances, The Dogs of Pripyat is an evening of heartbreak, hope, and humor that explores the inextinguishable desire in all of us to live when life seems least possible.

From Peter Pan to Gypsy Rose Lee, explore the depiction of children in Broadway musicals like Matilda, Peter Pan, Falsettos, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, School of Rock, Charlie Brown and Gypsy. The mixed cast of adults and children includes Farah Alvin (It Shoulda Been You), Kennedy Kanagawa, Graham Stevens, Brandi Porter, Benjamin Barham-Wiese, Devin Trey Campbell (Kinky Boots), Brandon Chosed, Charlotte MacLeod and Lauren Park. In 2008, Reverend Vernon Jackson's Religious Broadcasting Network in Lynchburg Va. presented 'The Gay No More Telethon'. The goal: raise money to turn as many homosexuals as possible straight by the rapture or the 2014 Winter Olympics. Whichever came first. But now with the trump administration, the Supreme Court and the GOP looking to undo several advances made by the LGBTQ community since then, Reverend Jackson has seen the error of his ways and is touring the country to apologize.

On Monday, September 18, The Three Angry Ladies (Shayna O'Neill, Emily Louise Perkins, and Emma Clarkson), presented Stay Mad, Make Art: A Benefit Concert for Immigrant Families Together at The Center at West Park (165 West 86th Street at Amsterdam Avenue., New York, NY 10024). Almost $8000 was raised for Immigrant Families Together, a network of Americans committed to rapid response unification of families separated by the 'zero tolerance' policy.

When you are a very lucky theatergoer, a play can transport you to a different time and place and age. Decky Does A Bronco is one such experience. A heavy metal playground swing set is placed on a raised stage of green carpeting. On the walls there are chalk drawings. You can see and more importantly feel the surrounding Scottish neighborhoods in the distance. The scenic designer is Diggle who did very memorable work last year at the Tank with Red Emma and the Mad Monk.
