Tonight, the Broadway play Thoughts of a Colored Man, written by Keenan Scott II, was honored with the Outstanding Broadway Production Award at the 33rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards. The ceremony, which took place at the New York Hilton Hotel, recognizes and honors media and entertainment for their fair, accurate and inclusive representation of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community and the issues that affect their lives.

The Broadway revival of Ntozake Shange's for colored girls who have considered suicide/ when the rainbow is enuf, directed and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Camille A. 2022 Douglas Lyons' Next Wave Initiative Winners Announced!

The 2022 winners of Douglas Lyons' Next Wave Initiative have been announced. NWI is a developmental branch of The Directors Company committed to amplifying future Black voices in The American Theatre. Each winner will receive financial scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,959 to support their undergraduate or graduate education.

The Keenan Scott II play, directed by Steven H. Broadnax III has tried its hardest to safely navigate the current health crisis, even putting the playwright on stage with script this past Tuesday evening, but eventually was not able to continue under the unfortunate conditions of Covid exposure in the city and country.
