Moliere In The Park Will Return To Prospect Park's LeFrak Center With Free Staged Readings Of TARTUFFE

Molière in the Park, co-presenting with the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF), and in partnership with the Prospect Park Alliance and LeFrak Center at Lakeside, will present free staged readings of two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Wilbur's translation of Molière's TARTUFFE, directed by Molière in the Park's Founding Artistic Director Lucie Tiberghien, May 26 - 30, 2021.

Brittany K. Allen, Denny Dale Bess and More to Star in Ensemble Studio Theatre & Radio Drama Network's REDWOOD

ENSEMBLE STUDIO THEATRE (EST) (William Carden, Artistic Director) and Radio Drama Network (Melina Brown, President) announced casting today for the New York Premiere of Redwood, written by EST/Youngblood member Brittany K. Allen (Happy Happy Joy Joy) and directed by Mikhaela Mahony (Dido of Idaho). Redwood begins previews at EST's Curt Dempster Theatre (549 W. 52nd Street, New York, NY 10019) on April 15, 2020 and is set to open April 23 for a limited run through May 10, 2020.

The Resident Acting Company Presents POLISHING SHAKESPEARE

In 2015, the news that the Oregon Shakespeare Festival had commissioned modern English translations of all of Shakespeare's plays drew alarm from purists. Over the past month, the PlayOn! Festival has been presenting all 39 translations. The month-long festival concludes on June 30th and on July 1st The Resident Acting Company will present a new play based on the powerful debate behind these translations-Polishing Shakespeare by HBO Def Poet and critically acclaimed playwright, Brian Dykstra and starring Bradford Cover, Robin Leslie Brown and Kate Rigg. The play will be directed by Margarett Perry.

Ako, Kathleen Chalfant & More To Take Part In 9th Annual SHAKESPEARE'S BIRTHDAY SONNET SLAM

The 9th Annual Shakespeare's Birthday Sonnet Slam will be held Friday, April 26th from 1pm-4pm at the 9th floor Lounge at the Riverside Church Campus in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. The Sonnet Slam features 154 readers of all ages and abilities performing all 154 of Shakespeare's Sonnets in numerical order. The event is free to the public and is approximately 3 hours long.

La MaMa Fills 57th Season with Over 50 Premieres

Directed by Carey Perloff and presented in association with American Conservatory Theater, A Thousand Splendid Suns will run May 12 - June 17, 2018 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage, Old Globe Theatre, Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tickets start at $30.00 and are on sale to the general public now. Previews run May 12-16. Opening night is Thursday, May 17 at 8:00 p.m.
