Honky Tonk Heaven: Legend of the Broken Spoke will open the 8th Annual Houston Cinema Arts Festival on Thursday, November 10 at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and will be followed by a live performance from popular Texas country artist Dale Watson.

The world premiere of Jen Silverman's COLLECTIVE RAGE: A PLAY IN FIVE BOOPS kicks off Woolly Mammoth's season with a perfect balance between the really absurd and the absurdly real. Directed by Mike Donahue, it's the story of five very different women. All are named Betty Boop, and all are female archetypes fighting against their own oppressive forces.

This year's festival played host to nearly 200 shows ranging in style from the weird and wacky one-person shows to sincere musicals and dramas. Fringe NYC ran from August 12-28, 2016 at 16 venues across lower Manhattan (and Central Park).

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company announces its first production of its 37th Season, the world premiere of Collective Rage: A Play in Five Boops by Jen Silverman, directed by Mike Donahue. Collective Rage will run from September 12 to October 9, 2016.

The full cast has been announced for Spare Rib, a reproductive rights celebration on June 16 at the Society for Ethical Culture. Rajiv Joseph's Guards at the Taj, produced by the Atlantic Theater Company, received the Obie Award® for Best New American Play, which is accompanied by a $1,000 prize. Legendary actor/dancer/choreographer Carmen de Lavallade and renowned playwright A.R. Gurney each received a special Obie Award® for Lifetime Achievement. Obie and Screen Actors Guild® Award-winning actress Lea DeLaria returned as host of this year's ceremony, which was held at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street).

On January 22nd at 6:30 PM, the anniversary of Roe V. Wade, playwright Winter Miller will be hosting an 'abortion extravaganza' reading of her new play, SPARE RIB, as part of a nationwide series of events in conjunction with #ShoutYourAbortion.

Producer Jacob Langfelder along with Diego Kolankowsky (Spring Awakening), AltaNeve wines and Marie Assante hosted a New Year's to remember at a luxe, two-story loft overlooking the Central Park fireworks. Guests were entertained to the early morning by performances from Tori Scott (Time Out Top 10 Cabaret Performers), Varsity Interpretive Dance Squad and Australian recording artist Brendan Maclean (Universal Music Group, Baz Luhrman's GREAT GATSBY, and VELVET). MIGHTY REAL: A FABULOUS SYLVESTER MUSICAL began performances at the Brava Theater Center (2781 24th Street) on Wednesday, February 11th and will open on Saturday, February 14th, 2015. The limited San Francisco engagement is scheduled through Sunday, March 1st.

AnthonyKen LLC and Sheryl Lee Ralph/The Diva Foundation are pleased to announce that the critically acclaimed MIGHTY REAL: A FABULOUS SYLVESTER MUSICAL, the musical celebration of the life of the original 1970s "Queen of Disco" Sylvester, will return for a special one-night-only event in New York City at The Gramercy Theater (127 East 23rd Street) on Sunday, January 18th, 2015 at 8 PM. The musical will then take off for a limited engagement in Sylvester's beloved city, San Francisco, where it will play the Brava Theater Center (2781 24th Street) from Wednesday, February 11th - Sunday, March 1at, 2015 (Opening Night: February 14th, 2015). Plans for other engagements in cities across the country - and a return to New York City - will be announced in the New Year.
