Vineyard Theatre has revealed the recipients of the 2024-2025 Paula Vogel Playwriting Award and Colman Domingo Award. Learn more about the award and the recipients!

This year, the Paula Vogel Playwriting Award, Susan Stroman Directing Award and Colman Domingo Award will be given during the company's annual Emerging Artists Celebration, to be held on Friday, December 1 at 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at the National Arts Club.

The Board of Seven Devils New Play Foundry will welcome the Artistic Leadership Team of Paula Marchiel, Mallory Metoxen, and Adrian Centeno, who will take the reins of the company's mission to develop and present new work that embraces the diversity of the American experience following the departure of Producing Artistic Director Jeni Mahoney who is stepping down in September, following 23 years of service.

George Bailey, Clarence, and the Bedford Falls community will come to life at Portland Center Stage this holiday season, in a fresh, inventive reimagining of the beloved holiday story. It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play will begin preview performances on November 19, open on November 25, and run through December 24 on the U.S. Bank Main Stage. Tickets are on sale now.

LA-based and award-winning author Kara Lee Corthron is joining Four Seasons Books and the Contemporary American Theater Festival for an online book reading of her newest young adult novel, Daughters of Jubilation. The reading will take place over Zoom on Tuesday, December 8 at 6:30pm.

Adventure Theatre MTC brings an exciting new segment presented in Spanish to its weekly Sunday afternoon digital productions: Contemos Nuestras Historias con Andrea Sarralde (Let's Tell Our Stories with Andrea Sarralde). At Contemos Nuestras Historias, audiences will take a fun and creative walk through the past and present art of Latin American and Hispanic cultures to inspire artists of the future.

Adventure Theatre MTC's Sunday Storytimes explore the complicated drama of interracial teen romance with Kara Lee Corthron's debut Young Adult fiction novel, 'The Truth of Right Now' with guest host Nicole A. Watson, Associate Artistic Director at Round House Theatre. This digital interview is free and will stream on Facebook Live, August 23, 2020 at 2pm. 

Chip Miller has been named the associate artistic director of Portland Center Stage, the city's largest professional theater company. Miller originally joined the company in the spring of 2019, in the role of associate producer. In the past season, they directed the company's smash-hit production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch and the celebrated world premiere of Redwood, a play he also helped develop. Miller steps into the new role immediately.
