WAM New Intergenerational Ensemble To Debut FRACTURED DREAMS At July 24 Gala

WAM Theatre is thrilled to announce a Berkshire County Tour of FRACTURED DREAMS-a collaborative devised production between WAM's new Elder Ensemble and the Teen Ensemble.  The performance is comprised of original writing, music, and movement on the theme of dreams and barriers to dreams, created by the Ensemble members using devised theatre techniques. These Ensembles have been in residence for two weeks at The Foundry in West Stockbridge. 

Lincoln Center Extends Mostly Mozart Festival Music Director Louis Langrée's Contract Through 2023

On the eve of the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra's (MMFO) opening performances at the 2019 Mostly Mozart Festival, Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss has announced that Lincoln Center has extended the contract of Renee and Robert Belfer Music Director Louis Langree through the summer of 2023. Langree has held the position since 2003, fostering the Festival Orchestra's profile as an established ensemble and steadfast presence on the Lincoln Center campus, furthering its scope of repertoire beyond music of the classical era, and heightening its reputation as one of America's premier chamber orchestras. Langree made his Mostly Mozart Festival debut in 1998 and began his tenure as music director in 2003. 2023 will be his twenty-first season in the role. American Express is the lead sponsor of the Mostly Mozart Festival.

California Shakespeare Theater Names Sarah Williams New Managing Director

Kate Stechschulte, Board President, along with the Board of Directors of California Shakespeare Theater (Cal Shakes) announce the appointment of Sarah Williams as the company's new Managing Director. Sarah will join the company after Labor Day on September 3, succeeding Interim Managing Director Tirzah Tyler.

Huntington Theatre Company's 2019 Summer Play Workshop Begins

The Huntington Theatre Company's annual Summer Workshop began rehearsals July 9 and will conclude in public readings of four new plays on July 20 and 21, 2019. The workshop allows selected members of the Huntington Playwriting Fellows program two weeks to focus on developing new plays. The workshop and public readings will take place in the South End at the Huntington's Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts, 527 Tremont Street, Boston.

Dunder Mifflin is opening an office near you! Producers of the sold-out, unauthorized Off-Broadway sensation The Office! A Musical Parody are thrilled to announce that the North American tour will make a stop in Cincinnati at the Aronoff Center's intimate Jarson-Kaplan Theater on Saturday, February 15 at 1:30 PM & 7:30 PM, and Sunday, February 16 at 1:30 PM.

Her autobiographical play 18 Minutes of Fame has been a hit with both LA and New York audiences for a few years now and pro that she is, Minkus makes changes to it regularly. In our chat, she tells our audience how it got started, what she's done to improve it for the next remounting in July and how very much the show means to her. I have seen this wonderful show 18 Minutes of Fame 3 times, and marvel at how you change things each time you mount it. It's about your life from the time you were a little girl. Have you made specific changes for this new production in July? If so, what is different?

The Academy Invites 842 To Membership; 50% Are Women

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 842 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. The 2019 class is 50% women, 29% people of color, and represents 59 countries. Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy's membership in 2019.

The Theater at the 14th Street Y Announces 2019-2020 Season

The Theater at the 14th Street Y continues to honor the edgy, diverse, and rich history of innovative culture-making in the East Village with the 2019-20 Season from September 6, 2019 through June 2020. All productions are chosen through a submission process and the curated season is co-presented by the Theater at the 14th Street Y. From a wide range of artists, the season is a deliberate program of artistic discourse around the theme of Life and Death.

COME FROM AWAY Celebrate Canada Day With Random Acts Of Kindness

Cast, band members and fans of hit musical Come From Away in London celebrated Canada Day today, 1 July, by performing at Tottenham Court Road Station and sharing random acts of kindness with 500 passing commuters by handing out £5 travelcards. With this show of goodwill they hoped to honour the spirit of the musical and the residents of Newfoundland, Canada who welcomed stranded air passengers from around the world in the wake of 911.

The play reading is part of SFTL's Summer Theatre Fest 2019 and brings to life short plays written by college and high school students from South Florida. Tatiana & Alexander Fursenko Debut GYPSY'S DREAM With The Gypsy Fun Trio At Russian Samovar

The legendary Russian Samovar Restaurant and Piano Bar presents the one and only "Gypsy's Dream" by renowned actor, model, singer, and dancer duo Tatiana & Alexander Fursenko. The pair, who are winners of the Russian President's National Award for Contribution to the Theatre and Film Industry, premiers with their first show  on Friday, June 28 at 9:00pm. A show will be held every Friday until Labor Day weekend. The one-hour show will include classic Gypsy ballads and dancers, as well as a guitarist, violinist, and an accordionpiano player from the Gypsy Fun Trio (Andrey Solodenko, Valery Zhmud and Sergey Pobedinsky). Said Russian Samovar manager Vlada Von Shats, "The incredible sound of the gypsies will touch your soul."
