BroadwayWorld was behind the scenes at the final night of the Cabaret Convention hosted by artistic director KT Sullivan.  Klea Blackhurst presented Billy Stritch with the Donald F. Smith Award.

Last night at Rose Theater The Mabel Mercer Foundation kicked off the 34th Annual Cabaret Convention and Broadway World photographer Conor Weiss was in the house.

The cast and patrons of The Mabel Mercer Foundation gathered with artistic director KT Sullivan at the Algonquin Hotel for an elegant after party celebrating the first night of the Cabaret Convention.

They're swell and just a couple of the acts that you can catch up with at the Cabaret Convention concerts that are around the corner.

Born in the sticks, raised in a musical family, a major player in cabaret circles, celebrating an October birthday.... here's our monthly toast to someone who'll be blowing out the candles on a cake at the end of the month. But let's start the well-wishing now.

Last night, after a 4 year wait and re-schedules due to COVID and knee surgery, Lucie Arnaz hit the stage of 54Below with all cylinders on burn and guns ablaze! She performed an evening she calls “I GOT THE JOB” and kept the celeb filled New York City audience entranced from beginning to end, garnering multiple ovations that seemed as natural as breathing.

The Mabel Mercer Foundation’s invitation predicted“A Swell Party” and last night certainly was!  KT Sullivan artistic director of the foundation hosted an elegant evening to celebrate the legacy of Charles S Bullock, Chairman Emeritus, Board of Trustees, and his favorite composer Cole Porter at the legendary Pierre Hotel in Manhattan.
