So often our focus during this five-week buildup to Sunday night's ceremony is on the performers and the writers who are front and center during this process. However, today, we are talking to two Tony nominees whose impact on their shows is no less important, despite the fact that they aren't the people getting the glossy stories in the New York and theatre media. We also talk to a journalist who brings important context to the New York theatre community.

Karen Kain, Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, today announced the principal casting for the company premiere of Justin Peck's Paz de la Jolla, James Kudelka's The Man in Black and Alexander Ekman's Cacti. The Summer Mixed Programme concludes the 2017/18 season, June 16 - 22, 2018 at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators covering New York Theater for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway announced its nominees on April 24, 2018. The winners were announced on Monday, May 7th and the annual Gala Awards Dinner and presentation of awards to the winners will be held yesterday, Thursday, May 24th (3PM) at the legendary Sardi's Restaurant.

Actors' Equity Association, the union which represents more than 51,000 professional stage actors and stage managers, announced the results of the 2018 National Council election.  In total, 55 Council seats across all three regions and representing three (3) categories (principal actor, chorus actor and stage manager) were filled, effective immediately.
