A dependable haven for artists in isolation, Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) is now into its second year of non-stop weekly Community Gatherings this Friday, having offered to date nearly 100 conversations and unlimited camaraderie since April 17, 2020. TRU hosts their Community Gatherings every Friday at 5pm ET via Zoom, to explore the creation of art and theater in the time of COVID-19. These crucial conversations will continue going forward as theater reopens. Ask questions, bring answers, be part of a community – it’s an opportunity to network with theater professionals and talk about keeping theater alive during shutdown, and what we are doing now, going forward.

Now the beloved store is getting ready to open its doors at its new home at 266 West 39th Street (between 7th and 8th Avenues). The legendary shop's new home will be only one block away from its last location.

On Monday, October 29, Sing for Hope held its 12th annual Sing for Hope Gala, uniting New York's philanthropic and cultural leaders for a magical evening in support of the organization's programs and commitment to bring the arts to under-resourced areas. The event, co-chaired by Ann Ziff, Renee Fleming, and Muhammad Yunus, with Vice Chairs Dr. William Isacoff and Linda E. Before last night's special fan performance for lucky lottery winners, New York City Commissioner of Media and Entertainment Julie Menin honored the cast and creative team of Broadway's new musical 'Mean Girls' by re-naming W. 52nd Street between Broadway & 8th Avenue 'W. Fetch Street,' outside the August Wilson Theatre 245 W 52nd St., Manhattan. The cast in full costume, creative team and Commissioner gathered on the sidewalk at 5 minutes to curtain to make the announcement.

The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) and Guitar Mash have officially launched the 2nd Annual #MyNYCSong contest, once again giving young New York musicians a chance to show off their creativity, talent, and love for their hometown. Teen songwriters are invited to submit an original song about or inspired by any aspect of New York City that influences them, accompanied by a guitar, ukulele or keyboard.
