World's First Immersive Storytelling Festival to Hit NYC This Fall

The Future of StoryTelling (FoST) today announced the debut of The Future of StoryTelling Festival (FoST FEST), taking place October 7-9 in New York City and featuring 75,000 square feet of exhibitions and other programming--including more than 50 hands-on technology demos, virtual-reality (VR) and augmented-reality (AR) exhibits, interactive installations, panel conversations, 360 films, games, live theater performances, and a multiperson VR theater.

The RIDE OF FAME teamed up with the City of New York and the casts of Tony-nominated shows FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and SHE LOVES ME to present lyrical legend Harnick with another curtain call to celebrate his career and upcoming Lifetime Achievement Tony Award at the young age of 92. 2016 NYMF Reveals Initial Lineup

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF), previously known as The New York Musical Theatre Festival, announced today the initial lineup for NYMF 2016. Among the shows announced in the lineup are the Next Link Project musical selections, as well as invited production selections, developmental reading selections, and concerts. Now in its thirteenth year, the 2016 Festival will take place in July at locations around midtown Manhattan in New York City.

The Performing Arts Center at the World Trade Center ('the PAC') today announces the establishment of a core team of artistic leaders: David Lan (Artistic Director of London's Young Vic) as Consulting Artistic Director; Lucy Sexton (artist, producer, and Director of the New York Dance & Performance Awards (aka The Bessies)) as Associate Artistic Director; and Andy Hayles, Managing Partner of Charcoalblue (London's National Theatre, Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre, and the future home of Brooklyn's St. Ann's Warehouse), as theater design consultant. Stephen Daldry (director of the films The Hours, Billy Elliot, The Reader and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, and of Billy Elliot the Musical, and former Artistic Director of London's Gate Theatre and Royal Court Theatre) has joined the PAC's Board of Directors. The artistic team is collaborating with the PAC's staff, board and numerous consultants to create a place that is unique on the cultural landscapes of New York, the United States and the world.
Lower East Side Tenement Museum Celebrated with Gala Event; Nearly Doubled Funds Raised

On June 5, the Lower East Side Tenement Museum celebrated its 25th anniversary and the 150th anniversary of its historic landmark tenement at 97 Orchard Street with an extraordinary gala event that immersed guests in the vibrant culture of the Lower East Side. The event raised more than $700,000, nearly double the amount raised at the previous gala. Guests explored a 'living timeline' featuring photography, games, whiskey tastings, palm readings, pushcart shopping and more. Food, beverages and silent auction items were provided by more than forty local businesses, including Russ & Daughters, Economy Candy, the Pickle Guys, DiPalo's Fine Foods and Top Hops. Costumed interpreters portraying past residents of 97 Orchard Street interacted with guests.
