PlayMakers Repertory Company presents the regional premiere of “Yoga Play,” a comedy by Dipika Guha that asks the question, what is the personal cost of enlightenment and  identity, in a world that commodifies both? The production runs from February 23 to March 13, 2022 and is directed by Pirronne Yousefzadeh in her Paul Green Theatre stage directorial debut.

 PlayMakers Repertory Company presents Zi Alikhan's innovative staging of Ragtime, the musical by Terrance McNally, Stephen Flaherty, and Lynn Ahrens. Ragtime stars Hamilton's Fergie L. PlayMakers Repertory Company is proud to present the Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, "How I Learned to Drive" by Tony Award®-nominated playwright Paula Vogel. The production, directed by Lee Sunday Evans, will run from April 3 to 21, 2019.

When Zack Fine's play BEWILDERNESS begins, it feels like a time machine has landed at PlayMakers Repertory Company in Chapel Hill and philosopher and writer Henry David Thoreau has emerged. Fine, playing himself, directly addresses the audience while Thoreau, eagerly played by company member Geoffrey Culbertson, wanders aimlessly about the stage pondering the question: Is the afterlife a regional theater in North Carolina? The curtain opens and the time travelers find themselves at Thoreau's cabin on Walden Pond, roughly built to scale on the Kenan stage. What happens next borders on the ridiculous, absurd, and downright funny.

PlayMakers Repertory Company proudly presents "Bewilderness," a PlayMakers commission and the second production in its 2018/19 PRC2 Kenan Stage series. Written and directed by Zack Fine, "Bewilderness" invites us into the upside-down, creatively chaotic world of a playwright inspired by and obsessed with the great American philosopher, Henry David Thoreau. In this madcap comedy, the famous cabin on Walden Pond plays host not only to Thoreau, but also to his brother, his mother, Ralph Waldo Emerson, some singing doctors, and a wisecracking woodchuck.

PlayMakers Repertory Company presents the regional premiere of 'The Cake' by Carolina alum Bekah Brunstetter (NBC's This is Us writer/producer), on stage from Sept.13 to Oct. 1 at the Center for Dramatic Art on Country Club Road. The production is directed by Carolina alumnus Jeffrey Meanza, who returns to PlayMakers to make his main stage directorial debut.
