Production has resumed in Salt Lake City on the second season of the popular Disney+ series 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' as the East High drama students prepare to perform 'Beauty and the Beast' as their Spring musical. Slated for a late 2020 debut on Disney+, the second season will include reimagined musical numbers from both the 'High School Musical' movies and the stage production of 'Beauty and the Beast,' in addition to brand-new songs that join hits from season one like 'Born to Be Brave' and 'Just for a Moment.'

'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' stars Joshua Bassett and Olivia Rodrigo performed at the Junior Theater Festival Atlanta this past weekend. Over 6,500 musical theater kids attended to watch Olivia and Joshua perform!

Actress Olivia Rodrigo makes her songwriting debut with 'All I Want,' a song showcased in the episode of 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' premiering Friday, November 29 on Disney+. In the episode 'Blocking,' 16-year old Rodrigo performs the piano ballad as her character, Nini Salazar-Roberts. She recorded it live on the set during filming.

Disney+ has renewed the highly anticipated music-filled, comedic series 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' ahead of its debut on Disney+ TUESDAY, NOV. 12. Production on season two will resume early next year in Salt Lake City, Utah. 

In a tip of the Wildcat hat to fans of 'High School Musical,' three television networks a?" ABC, Disney Channel and Freeform a?" will present the first episode of 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' for one night only, FRIDAY, NOV. 8 (8:00 p.m. EST), in advance of the series' bow on the highly anticipated streaming service, Disney+ (launching Tuesday, Nov. 12).

This afternoon, Disney+ made its D23 Expo debut with its first-ever showcase presentation, announcing six new series in development and revealing key details about the highly anticipated streaming service to an enthusiastic audience at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim. The event showcased the sweeping array of talent with in-person and video appearances from the stars of Disney+'s slate of originals from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic and included sneak peeks, trailer premieres, and exclusive news about the service and its upcoming projects. Disney+ has released the first poster for its upcoming series, 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.'

Based on the promos that have been airing all week, it was evident that Thursday's episode of GREY'S ANATOMY was going to be an emotional one. Although the promos were (characteristically) misleading, the episode did not disappoint. The devastating effects of addiction, as well as the complicated ways in which different people view addiction, took center stage as the doctors fought to save the lives of over 50 patients who had overdosed, including Betty/Britney.

Production is underway in Salt Lake City, Utah, on the highly anticipated, innovative and re-invented 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' for Disney+, The Walt Disney Company's upcoming streaming service. The series is developed and executive produced by Tim Federle ('Ferdinand'), alongside showrunner and executive producer Oliver Goldstick ('Pretty Little Liars,' 'Ugly Betty'). Bill Borden and Barry Rosenbush (the original 'High School Musical' trilogy) are also executive producers. Sundance Film Festival-nominated film, television and music video director Tamra Davis ('Empire,' 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend') is directing the first three episodes. The choreographer is Zach Woodlee ('Glee,' 'Dumplin'').
