Gimlet has announced their fall slate of new and returning fiction podcasts has been released by Gimlet, featuring Broadway stars such as Ali Stroker, Alan Cumming, Noah Galvin, Daphne Rubin Vega, and Ari'el Stachel.

Friends, colleagues, and students of the highly regarded and much loved actor, teacher, writer, and director E. Katherine Kerr will gather on Monday, September 30, 2019, at 6:00 P.M. at Playwrights Horizons Peter Jay Sharp Theater to celebrate her life.

The New York premiere of WE'RE ONLY ALIVE FOR A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME, written and performed by David Cale, with music co-written by Matthew Dean Marsh, and directed by Robert Falls, runs through Sunday, July 14.

Theater of War Productions and Brooklyn Public Library will present an extended 10-week run of FREE performances of Antigone in Ferguson, Theater of War Productions' original project, exclusively supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. Antigone in Ferguson opens on Wednesday, May 8 and continues through Saturday, July 13 at St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church in Brooklyn (157 Montague St.).

Deadline reports that Ilana Glazer has set her first project post-Broad City: a horror film she co-wrote called False Positive, in which she stars in along with Justin Theroux and Pierce Brosnan. John Lee co-wrote and will direct the project at A24.

On Feb. 21, Valencia College's West Campus will host a dramatic reading of "The Suppliants" by Aeschylus, an ancient Greek drama centered around a chorus of 50 female refugees seeking asylum in the city of Argos. As internal struggle rocks Argos and its citizens debate whether to receive the refugees, the group of women await the decision of their collective fate. The reading will be followed by a discussion on themes addressed in the text.

Roundabout Theatre Company's new Broadway production of Sam Shepard's Tony & Pulitzer Prize-nominated drama True West, directed by James Macdonald (The Children), opened last night at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42nd Street), for a limited engagement through March 17, 2019.

This week, the National Board of Review celebrated their 2018 honorees, with top awards including Green Book as Best Film of the Year, Bradley Cooper as Best Director of the Year for A Star is Born, Viggo Mortensen as Best Actor of the Year for his performance in Green Book, and Lady Gaga as Best Actress of the Year for her performance in A Star is Born. The BAFTA Tea Party was held at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills on January 5, 2019. The event was presented by American Airlines, BBC America and Jaguar Land Rover.

Executive Producers Pam Carter and The Cliplight Theater, in conjunction with Amanda Cooper/ALC Management, are pleased to announce the world premiere of Maverick, co-authored by Frank Beacham and George Demas. A dramatization of co-author Beacham's real-life experience collaborating with Orson Welles in the months leading up to his death, Maverick begins previews at The Connelly Theater (220 E. 4th St., between Ave. A & Ave. B) on February 6, with opening night set for February 13 for a limited run through March 2. This morning, Film Independent announced the nominations for the 2019 Film Independent Spirit Awards. The Spirit Awards are the primary fundraiser for Film Independent's year-round programs, which cultivate the careers of emerging filmmakers and promote diversity in the industry. Film Independent President Josh Welsh presided over the press conference held at the W Hotel in Hollywood, with actors Gemma Chan and Molly Shannon presenting the nominations. Nominees for Best Feature included Eighth Grade, First Reformed, If Beale Street Could Talk, Leave No Trace and You Were Never Really Here.

Atlanta's Pinch 'N' Ouch Theatre is having one of its busiest seasons. Most recently presenting Edward Albee's harrowing masterpiece WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF, only weeks prior to Sam Shepard's Obie Award winning play FOOL FOR LOVE, the electrifying contemporary theatre company has just announced their latest production of Kenneth Lonergan's THIS IS OUR YOUTH, a compassionate living snapshot of the moment between adolescence and adulthood. YOUTH will be directed by the company's Producing Artistic Director Grant McGowen, and will feature Derek Evans, Thien Vuong, and Annie Jacob. It will perform in late November thru December at Pinch 'N' Ouch Theatre, now located in Kirkwood of Atlanta, GA.

Actors Josh Hamilton, Frankie Faison, and Katherine Erbe headline Theater of War's End of Life on October 28th as part of Reimagine End of Life, a weeklong, citywide festival exploring death taking place from October 27th to November 3rd.

In the wake of the critical success of BLAZE, directed and co-written by Ethan Hawke, and the acclaim for musician Ben Dickey in his first acting role as Blaze Foley; Ethan Hawke, Charlie Sexton and Louis Black announce the launch of the SexHawkeBlack record label. Dickey, who was awarded a U.S. Dramatic Special Jury Award for Achievement in Acting at the Sundance Film Festival 2018, will be the first musician signed to this new imprint in conjunction with the Nashville based Dualtone label. Music industry veteran Erika Pinktipps will oversee operations.
