The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present Aladdin star Telly Leung in a new concert, "Sing Happy," on Monday, November 11.

National Asian Artists Project will hold its 2018 Gala entitled 'The Corner of Chinatown and Broadway' a celebration of the 60th Anniversary of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Flower Drum Song, featuring Broadway's Jose Llana (The King and I) and Yuka Takara (A Chorus Line), the award-winning Theatre Club from P.S. 124, alumni and NAAP kids, the NAAP Broadway Community Chorus, members from the original casts of the Broadway and 2002 revival productions of Flower Drum Song, as well as honorees Alvin Ing and Yuriko Kikuchi, on Sunday, December 2nd  at The Golden Unicorn (18 East Broadway @ Catherine Street).

Today, Lincoln Center has announced the 20th season of American Songbook, celebrating the ever-expanding American musical canon from January 30 to March 4, 2019. This year's 15-concert series includes legendary songwriters, contemporary storytellers and interpreters of song, and musical projects by multitalented performers pushing the boundaries of pop, alternative, soul, folk, musical theater, jazz, and more.

Favorites of theatre and screen took to the stage of the American Airlines Theatre in Times Square last night for The 24 Hour Musicals on Broadway. John Mulaney, Bebe Neuwirth, Corey Cott, Savion Glover, Jackie Cruz, Lea Delaria, Emily Estefan, were just a few of the exceptional group of artists who joined forces to write, direct and perform four original musicals within 24 hours, in support of The Lillys.

Award-winning five-star hit musical, Everybody's Talking About Jamie, held a special VIP invitation-only screening just last week, in advance of public screenings on November 7, 11 and 14 in cinemas nationwide.

The 24 Hour Plays announced their cast and creative team for The 24 Hour Musicals premiere Broadway event, in partnership with The Lillys. The 24 Hour Musicals will take place on Monday, October 29th at 8 PM at the American Airlines Theatre in Times Square.

The Public Theater's Mother of the Maid, written by Emmy Award winner Jane Anderson, officially opened last night, October 17. Directed by Emmy Award nominee Matthew Penn, the riveting new play was initially extended through Sunday, December 2 and has been extended a final three weeks through Sunday, December 23.

America's Got Talent's Jeffrey Li made his musical theater debut in the developmental reading of Lainie Sakakura (producer/book) and Paul Fujimoto's (music/lyrics) CORNER OF BITTER AND SWEET, a musical adaptation of The New York Times Best Selling novel, HOTEL ON THE CORNER OF BITTER AND SWEET by Jamie Ford at The Playroom Theater in New York on September 17.

The cast of GETTIN' THE BAND BACK TOGETHER have had many guests from the Broadway community throughout its run. Among those were Lori Tan Chinn, Baayork Lee, Paul Shaffer, Andre De Shields, Denise Burse, Tracie Thoms, Jose Llana, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Marsha Mason, Alex Newell, Daniel K. Isaac, the kids from SCHOOL OF ROCK, Eric William Morris and his cast members from KING KONG.

A book detailing the histories of Filipino American theater groups and artists is now available. Barangay to Broadway: Filipino American Theater History includes information on Tony Award winners such as Lea Salonga (Actress in a Musical for Miss Saigon), Clint Ramos (Costume Design for Eclipsed), Lena Hall (Featured Actress in a Musical for Hedwig and the Angry Inch) and Robert Lopez (Music for Avenue Q and Book of Mormon).

J. Elaine Marcos debuted her hilarious one woman show What I Did for...a Job at Feinstein's/54 Below on September 5.

Last night, GETTIN' THE BAND BACK TOGETHER welcomed some high-profile guests, including Jose Llana, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Marsha Mason, Jaygee Macapugay, Nikka Graff Lanzarone and ONCE ON THIS ISLAND's Alex Newell.
