Encores! Off-Center kicks off the 2017 season with Assassins! The trigger-happy squad assembled for Assassins, Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's carnival ride through the history of political violence, will star Steven Boyer (John Hinckley Jr.), Alex Brightman(Giuseppe Zangara), Victoria Clark (Sara Jane Moore), John Ellison Conlee (Charles Guiteau), Clifton Duncan (The Balladeer), Shuler Hensley (Leon Czolgosz), Ethan Lipton(The Proprietor), Erin Markey (Lynette 'Squeaky' Fromme), Steven Pasquale (John Wilkes Booth), Cory Michael Smith (Lee Harvey Oswald), and Danny Wolohan(Samuel Byck). Assassins will be directed by Anne Kauffman, with music direction by Chris Fenwick and choreography by Lorin Latarro.

Encores! Off-Center Artistic Director Michael Friedman today announced casting for his first season at the helm of the popular summer musical theater series at New York City Center.

Traditionally, the human beings with uncommon attributes who are featured as carnival side-show attractions can hold a certain degree of power in their profession. The Public Theater presents the world premiere of Ethan Lipton's The Outer Space, directed by Leigh Silverman. THE OUTER SPACE opened just last night, March 8 in Joe's Pub at The Public. The Outer Space features music composed and performed by Ethan Lipton, Vito Dieterle, Eben Levy, and Ian M. Riggs. 

Honest Accomplice Theatre is dedicated to creating art for social change and last night premiered the  The Trans Literacy Project at a once in a lifetime benefit event on September 19, 2016 at 42 West in New York, NY.   Hosted by Susan Blackwell this evening featured the launch of The Trans Literacy Project as well as a celebrity game night.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director,Casey Reitz, Executive Director) presents the world premiere production of THE LAYOVER, written by Leslye Headland and directed by Trip Cullman. The Public Theater and International Rescue Committee announced additional casting today for the special free one-night-only Public Forum event, WELCOME HOME: A CELEBRATION OF WORLD REFUGEE DAY on Monday, June 20 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Free Public Forum tickets will be distributed, two per person (age 5+), at the Delacorte Theater beginning at 12:00 p.m. on the day of the Forum.
