Annual All-Stars Concert Comes to Flushing Town Hall

On Wednesday, July 10 at 7:00 PM, Flushing Town Hall, a Smithsonian affiliate, will host its fourth annual Jazz Jam All-Stars Concert and honor the musicians who regularly attend its monthly Louis Armstrong Legacy Jazz Jams.

An All-Stars Lineup of Jazz Musicians Will Take Center Stage at Flushing Town Hall

On Wednesday, July 12 at 7:00 PM, Flushing Town Hall will host its Third Annual Jazz Jam All-Stars Concert, honoring the musicians and audiences who regularly attend its in-person and virtual Jazz Jams. For the first time since the pandemic, the All-Stars concert will be held in Flushing Town Hall's theater.

Kolstein Center Announces June and July Performances at Essex House

In response to Covid to provide some money to NYC’s many out-of-work or underemployed string musicians, Manny Alvarez launched a “Kolstein Performance Showcase” in collaboration with the Essex House on Central Park South/7th.  There is an ongoing schedule every Friday evening from 7-8 PM.

This August, Flushing Town Hall continues to welcome in-person audiences back for select events while continuing to live-stream all programs, too. Next up, Flushing Town Hall will present  The Gino Sitson Trio's innovative and energetic performance of African music, an outdoor exhibition of work by Queens-based artists, Taiwanese piano talents Ching-Yun Hu, Natasha Wu, and Yao-Wen Chang, and the final, virtual Louis Armstrong Legacy Jazz Jam.

Carol Sudhalter Astoria Presents her Big Band Concert Saturday, October 15 at Langston Hughes Library

On October 15 at 2:00 pm in the 2nd floor concert hall of Langston Hughes Library and Cultural Center at 100-01 Northern Blvd., Corona, musician and bandleader Carol Sudhalter will lead the Astoria Big Band in a concert of music composed by women, with arrangements written by both men and women, including band member and prominent arranger Christopher Rinaman. The show highlights the works of a variety of women from Billie Holiday to saxophonist Ada Rovatti and many more. This unique presentation will offer many delightful surprises to the audience. The vocalist is Marti Mabin, well-known for her powerful rendition of Horace Silver's tune 'PEACE'.
