Oscar winner and 'national treasure' Dame Judi Dench has congratulated a young theatre company for their award-winning production of George Bernard Shaw's intimate comedy Village Wooing, and wishes them luck as they take the show on the road.

SHAW2020's production of VILLAGE WOOING - a Comedietta for Two Voices, written nearly 100 years ago by George Bernard Shaw, has won the London Pub Theatres Standing Ovation 'Rediscovery' Award.

A charming but lesser known Bernard Shaw play sponsored by The Shaw Society, has received accolades galore.

This hour-long play has had may incarnations, most notably in a 1979 ITV production, starring Richard Briers as 'A' and Dame Judi Dench, a Shaw Society vice-president, as 'Z'.

SHAW2020 will present this knockabout, battle of the sexes by Bernard Shaw. Village Wooing is a charming two-hander where the characters are simply named 'A' and 'Z'.

Farewell GBS culminates on Sunday 13th December with two more free 'zoom theatre' presentations. Shakes versus Shav, from SHAW2020 and Shaw's First and Last Thoughts, from Michael Friend Productions.

The United States Artists (USA) announced today that dancer/ choreographer Dianne McIntyre is one of fifty recipients of their 2020 USA Fellow award. Each of the fifty recipients will receive a $50,000 cash award of unrestricted funds.
