The Global Premiere of DOCTOR WHO Goes Coast to Coast

The highly-anticipated global premiere of BBC AMERICA's Doctor Who on Sunday, October 7th, will now be simulcasting coast-to-coast at 1:45pm ET/10:45am PT on the network. That evening, BBC AMERICA will air a special encore at 8pm ET/PT with bonus interviews with Jodie Whittaker and footage from New York Comic Con. For the run of the season, the series will premiere regularly at 8pm ET/PT on Sundays.

BBC Studios Americas in partnership with Fathom Events, is bringing the Thirteenth Doctor to theaters nationwide on October 10 and 11, and screening the feature-length premiere of The Woman Who Fell to Earth, the first episode of the all-new series of BBC AMERICA's Doctor Who. The two-night theatrical event will also include special never-before-seen bonus content surrounding the making of the hit show.

The Doctor Who global premiere is getting even bigger. The new season of Doctor Who hits BBC AMERICA timed to the UK premiere broadcast on Sunday, October 7th at 1:45pm ET/PT. At the same time, fans at New York Comic Con will watch the premiere followed by a panel with star Jodie Whittaker, showrunner Chris Chibnall and executive producer Matt Strevens at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. Attendees will get to experience the first episode live together and join the Q&A with Whittaker, Chibnall and Strevens.

Alongside her team of friends – Ryan (Tosin Cole), Yasmin (Mandip Gill) and Graham (Bradley Walsh) – this new era is packed full of action, humor, emotion, and adventures through space and time, starting with the first episode, titled “The Woman Who Fell to Earth.”

The network's US premiere will start at the same time as the UK debut on-air on Sunday, October 7th (time to be announced), followed by a special encore in its new regular primetime evening slot. For the run of the season, Doctor Who will premiere regularly on BBC AMERICA on its new marquee night on Sundays.

BBC AMERICA and WOMEN'S MEDIA CENTER have entered into a strategic alliance, with the goal of expanding both the diversity and representation of women in media. In the coming months, BBC AMERICA and WOMEN'S MEDIA CENTER will partner on initiatives to enrich, engage, and enlighten through proprietary analysis and content alliances as a way to spark change. The first partnership is a research study that will look at how depictions of women on screen impact young women and girls, with findings to be published later this year.

Michael Park announces that, following a hugely successful three-week run at West Yorkshire Playhouse earlier this year, Christine Mary Dunford's newly adapted version of Lisa Genova's best-selling novel, STILL ALICE, will tour the UK from September 2018, directed by David Grindley and starring Sharon Small as Alice. The tour will open at the Sheffield Lyceum from 12 to 15 September and will play Richmond Theatre from 18 to 22 September, King's Theatre Edinburgh from 25 to 29 September, Norwich Theatre Royal from 2 to 6 October the Yvonne Arnaud, Guildford from 9 to 13 October and Festival Theatre, Malvern from 20 to 24 November. Further venues and casting are to be announced.
