AMC Greenlights First Episodic Anthology Series

AMC announced today that it has greenlit a new, yet-to-be-titled original episodic anthology drama created by Emmy-Award winning writer Will Bridges (“Black Mirror,” “Stranger Things”) and Brett Goldstein (“Superbob,” “Adult Life Skills”). Bridges and Goldstein will executive produce with Jolyon Symonds through Fearless Minds, a Banijay Group company ('Thorne' series for Sky One, “Complicit”). The Untitled Bridges/Goldstein Project, produced by AMC Studios, will consist of six, hour-long episodes, and is slated for a 2020 debut on AMC.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has announced the winners of the Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards, celebrating and rewarding the very best programmes and performances of 2018. The ceremony was hosted by Graham Norton at the Royal Festival Hall, London, and presenters included Andrew Scott, Billy Monger, Bradley & Barney Walsh, Danny Dyer, David Schwimmer, Julia Stiles, Kelsey Grammer and Sir Lenny Henry.

Kick off 2019 in spectacular style with a New Year's Day special episode of Doctor Who on Tuesday, January 1st, moving from its traditional Christmas Day timeslot.  Leading up to the first-ever “Who Year's Day,” BBC AMERICA will present a Doctor Who marathon, starting with all the Christmas specials at 12pm ET/PT on Monday, December 24th, going into the big day itself, Tuesday, December 25th. After that, it's a marathon of all the Doctors, starting with Peter Capaldi, followed by Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, and Matt Smith, leading straight into the New Year's special on Tuesday, January 1st.

Season Premiere of DOCTOR WHO Sees Major Growth Over Previous Year

BBC AMERICA'S new season of Doctor Who, featuring Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth and first female Doctor, drew 1.4 million viewers and 658,000 Adults 25-54 in its 1:45pm global premiere.  Doctor Who now ranks as the fastest growing drama on TV this year with a +48% increase over the previous season premiere in Nielsen live/same day ratings. The season opener ranked as the #1 program in its timeslot across all of cable in the target demos and was the #1 most searched program and #1 most talked about program on social media with 93% positive sentiment. The new season is now Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
