Seattle Repertory Theatre's full 2014-2015 season was announced today by Artistic Director Jerry Manning. The season is headlined by the first-ever presentation of Seattle writer Robert Schenkkan's striking meditation on power and morality in his two-part Lyndon B. Johnson plays, All the Way and The Great Society, in repertory format.

Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC), dedicated to advancing the art and business of live entertainment, has announced the nominees for the 2014 MAC Awards. Winners in twenty-five categories will be voted by the MAC membership by anonymous ballot and announced at the MAC Awards Gala on March 27th at BB King's Blue Club in Times Square at: 237 W. 42 St between 7th and 8th Avenues. Today Cornish College of the Arts President Nancy J. Uscher and Seattle Center Director Robert Nellams signed a 20-year lease for the Playhouse at Seattle Center, officially launching a partnership that began in late 2012. The Cornish Playhouse at Seattle Center will host many of Cornish's educational programs in both the performing and visual arts, while also ensuring that the facility is made available to arts and cultural organizations around the region.

Local performer Jerick Hoffer, winner of the hit reality TV show 'RuPaul's Drag Race' as drag alter ego Jinkx Monsoon and co-star of the critically acclaimed off-Broadway sleeper hit The Vaudevillians, return to Seattle through December 22 for an encore performance of Hedwig and the Angry Inch at the historic Moore Theatre, a co-production of Balagan Theatre and Seattle Theatre Group. Following the December 18th performance, Hoffer partnered with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center to host an exclusive VIP after party, Cabaret for a Cause: A Jinkx Monsoon partnership with Fred Hutch to end HIV. It seems everything is coming up Jinkx lately. What with winning "RuPaul's Drag Race", a sold out run of his "Vaudevillians" show in New York, and his award winning performance of "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" here in Seattle (click here for my review of last January's production), Jerick Hoffer (a.k.a. Jinkx Monsoon) has a lot to crow about. And now with three upcoming shows in December (including a remount of the aforementioned "Hedwig"), it seems Jinkx is taking over the Holidays as well. I recently had a conversation with Jerick in between his many rehearsals to see how his whirlwind life has been going since the win.

Jinkx Monsoon, the alter ego of Jerick Hoffer and season five winner of RuPaul's Drag Race, will star in Off-Broadway's hit production 'The Vaudevillians' at one of New England's most prestigious music and comedy venues summer of 2014. Theatre Development Fund's (TDF) fun and informative online theatre dictionary, at www.theatredictionary.org, is celebrating the year anniversary of its launch. During this first year the number of theatre terms more than doubled - from 20 to 43, all featuring unique videos as well as written definitions.
