Little Angel Theatre has announced its Autumn /Winter Season which includes a major new adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book reuniting adaptors Barb Jungr and Samantha Lane (who also directs) following their celebrated collaboration on the Olivier-nominated The Smartest Giant in Town, also written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

The full cast line up for Shrek The Musical has been announced. Rising star Cherece Richards (Once on This Island, Regent's Park Theatre) will make her debut in a principal role as the Dragon.

After two years of record-breaking sales, Mercury Theatre today announce their new pantomime for Christmas 2023, Sleeping Beauty, which is now on sale.  The production will star pantomime royalty and Mercury Theatre regulars Antony Stuart-Hicks and Dale Superville.

The Dorfman stage at National Theatre transforms into Lamonic Bibber for the summer break. Mr Gum - a grumpy man who hates children and any kind of fun - traps Padlock the bear, Polly's new, unexpected friend and forces him to dance to entertain Gum's crowds of sailors and scallywags. Aided by her loyal friends, the nine-year-old embarks on a perilous journey to save Padlock and take him back to his home in the forest.

Well, not quite everyone…Mr Gum is a complete horror who hates children, animals and fun of any kind – so when a big bear called Padlock strolls into town, trouble can't be far off. Can nine-year-old Polly and her band of misfit friends help Padlock escape the villain's evil clutches, or will Mr Gum and his gruesome butcher sidekick prevail?

DOCTOR DOLITTLE stars Mark Williams as Doctor Dolittle, Brian Capron as Albert Blossom/Straight Arrow, Vicky Entwistle as Polynesia, Adele Anderson as Lady Bellows/Poison Arrow, Mollie Melia-Redgrave as Emma Fairfax, and Patrick Sullivan as Matthew Mugg.    

The producers of the UK & Ireland Tour of Leslie Bricusse's much loved musical Doctor Dolittle, which opens at the Churchill Theatre Bromley on 9 November, with a national press night at the New Theatre Oxford on 17 January 2019, are delighted to announce their support of WWF.

Fascinating Aida's Adele Anderson is confirmed to join Mark Williams, who plays Doctor Dolittle, in the UK & Ireland Tour of Doctor Dolittle. Adele will play Lady Bellowes/Poison Arrow at the first six venues of the tour - Bromley, Salford, Oxford, Wolverhampton, Newcastle and Hull. There will be a national press night on Thursday 17 January 2019 at the Oxford New Theatre.

Brian Capron, Vicky Entwistle, Mollie Melia-Redgrave and Patrick Sullivan are confirmed to join Mark Williams, who plays Doctor Dolittle, in the UK & Ireland Tour of Doctor Dolittle. Brian will play Albert Blossom/Straight Arrow, Vicky will play Polynesia, Mollie Emma Fairfax and Patrick Matthew Mugg. Mark Williams and Brian Capron will play the first ten venues on the tour - Bromley, Salford, Oxford, Wolverhampton, Newcastle, Hull, Aberdeen, Northampton, Nottingham and Sheffield. The others will play the entire tour. There will be a national press night on Thursday 17 January 2019 at the Oxford New Theatre.
