Act II Playhouse announces their 2022-2023 season which is filled with shows being performed for the first time on the Act II stage. 

The Axelrod Performing Arts Center presents A Toast to Steve & Eydie, featuring one of Broadway’s favorite leading ladies, Tony Award winner Debbie Gravitte alongside David Lawrence, the son of Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gormé, two of the music industry’s most celebrated recording artists and performers. 

In celebration of her soon to be released album Ann Kittredge:reIMAGINE(Jazzheads, Inc./King Kozmo Music), a specially curated collection of songs uniquely re-imagined, Ms. Kittredge, will appear at The Laurie Beechman Theatre (407 West 42nd Street – between 9th & 10th Avenues) on Thursday, May 26th at 7pm.

The one and only Bernadette Peters will bring her glamour to the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra for two rare Canadian appearances on May 18 & 19, 2022.

The Mountain Play, the San Francisco Bay Area's most magical outdoor theater experience, is proud to present HELLO, DOLLY! for its 109th Season, May 22 through June 19. Directed by Jay Manley, with musical direction by David Möschler, and choreography by Zoë Swenson-Graham, HELLO, DOLLY! will entertain audiences of all ages in a one-of-a-kind mountaintop event.

In Season 7 at The Studio, for the first time, all four of their productions are set in the past. Although they are contemporary works, the settings span from the turn of the 19th century to the 1980s. Many of the conflicts in these plays parallel modern issues we still face today. Each story is focused on characters demanding to be seen and understood for who they are.

Pioneer Theatre Company will present the record-setting Broadway hit, Hello, Dolly! as the closing musical for the current season. The turn-of- the-century romance, bursting with music and energetic dance will run from May 13 through May 28, 2022.

TheaterWorks Hartford will present the East Coast premiere of Zoey’s Perfect Wedding by Tony-winner Matthew López, the first Latiné playwright to win the Tony Award for best play. Directed by Artistic Director Rob Ruggiero, the production marks López’s return to TheaterWorks Hartford following 2018's The Legend of Georgia McBride.

Producer Antonio Marion has announced that Tony and Olivier Award-winning director, Rob Ashford, is set to direct a brand-new production of Sherlock Holmes, a stage epic by British writing team Rachel Wagstaff and Duncan Abel, with Akram Khan joining as choreographer.

Algonquin Arts Theatre has announced its 2022-2023 Broadway Series titles. Flying in to start the season is Mary Poppins followed by the theatre's August production of The Who's Tommy. In October, Man of LaMancha returns to the Algonquin Stage.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Burry Fredrik Foundation championing the growth and continuing health of Connecticut's non-profit professional producing theaters. Since 2012, the Foundation has granted over $3 million to a dozen Connecticut theaters with a proven track record of accomplishments. In 2022, $500,000 will be awarded. The Foundation was established by Burry Fredrik (1925-2012), a Tony Award-winning producer and noted director, who lived in Weston, CT.

Lyrics and Lyricists™ 50th anniversary season will continue with You Send Me: The Song and Soul of Sam Cook on April 23, 24 and 25. Darius de Haas delves into the world of Sam Cooke – his gospel roots and triumphant 1964 engagement at the Copacabana; his classics of romance, and work as a trailblazing entrepreneur and civil rights activist.
