Amazon Studios Announces Overall Deal with Steve McQueen

Amazon Studios today announced it has signed an overall deal with Academy Award, BAFTA and Golden Globe-winning artist, director and screenwriter Steve McQueen, under which he will create and produce content for Amazon Studios to premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in over 200 countries and territories. As part of the deal, the television project Last Days, a Lammas Park and See-Saw Films production, has been put into development. McQueen's upcoming drama Small Axe, a Turbine Studios and Lammas Park production for BBC One with Amazon co-producing in the U.S., starring John Boyega and Letitia Wright, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in the U.S. later in 2020.
Amazon Studios Greenlights JACK REACHER Series

Amazon Studios today announced that it has greenlit Jack Reacher, a drama based on the character from Lee Child's international bestselling series of books, which is published in 49 languages and 101 territories and has sold 100 million books to date. Produced by Amazon Studios, Skydance Television and Paramount Television Studios, the television series will be written by Nick Santora (Scorpion, Prison Break), who will also executive produce and serve as showrunner for the series. The first season will be based on the first Jack Reacher novel, 'The Killing Floor.'

The Hollywood Reporter (THR) hosted its 28th annual Women in Entertainment breakfast gala presented by Lifetime today, honoring Reese Witherspoon with the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award and Ronan Farrow with the Equity in Entertainment Award. This year's honorees were joined by best-selling author, entrepreneur and political activist Stacey Abrams, who delivered the keynote speech. The event – held at MILK Studios in Los Angeles – coincided with the publication of THR's annual Power 100 Women in Entertainment issue, guest edited by Olivia Wilde.

The Hollywood Reporter (THR) today announced that Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Ronan Farrow will receive the Equity in Entertainment Award at its annual Women in Entertainment breakfast gala on Wednesday, December 11, 2019. The honor, which recognizes an individual who has worked against gender-based discrimination and toward greater inclusion of women and people of color in the entertainment industry, will be presented by former Fox News anchor, whistleblower and journalist Gretchen Carlson.
Amazon Prime Orders Second Season of MODERN LOVE

Amazon Prime Video announced today that it has ordered a second season of the half-hour romantic anthology series Modern Love. Modern Love, which debuted globally on Prime Video on October 18, is inspired by the popular The New York Times column of the same name. The series explores love in all of its complicated and beautiful forms, as each standalone episode brings some of the column's most beloved stories to life with a stellar cast. Season two of Modern Love will premiere on Prime Video in 2020 in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.
