The College Break Thru program completed its inaugural year on Friday, June 29th when it awarded over $500,000 in scholarships to students.

According to Variety, Oscar nominee Lucas Hedges and Emmy winner Sterling K. Brown are in negotiations to star in A24's “Waves,” which will be Trey Edward Shults' follow-up to “It Comes at Night'.

Shaina Taub has joined Sir Elton John and Paul Rudnick writing The Devil Wears Prada, a new musical in development for Broadway. Based on Lauren Weisberger's best-selling 2003 novel and the 2006 blockbuster film from Fox 2000 Pictures, the new musical is produced by Kevin McCollum, Fox Stage Productions and Rocket Entertainment.

Irish Repertory Theatre's On a Clear Day You Can See Forever just opened last night, June 28 The show stars Tony Award-nominee Stephen Bogardus (Bright Star), John Cudia (The Phantom of the Opera), and Tony Award-nominee Melissa Errico (Finian's Rainbow). ON A CLEAR DAY features music by Burton Laneand book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner.

Kiss Me, Kate has found its leading man! Roundabout Theatre Company just announced that Tony Award nominee Will Chase (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, "Nashville" and upcoming HBO's "Sharp Objects") will join Tony Award winner Kelli O'Hara in a new Broadway production of the musical comedy Kiss Me, Kate. Chase will star as "Fred GrahamPetruchio."

Three-time Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown will be the guest for a special podcast taping of 'LITTLE KNOWN FACTS with Ilana Levine' to discuss How We React and How We Recover, his new album.

Abbey Theatre and The Royal Court Theatre's co-production of CYPRUS AVENUE comes to The Public Theater, written by David Ireland and directed by Vicky Featherstone, featuring Stephen Rea as Eric. CYPRUS AVENUE just opened last night, June 25, and is currently running at The Public through Sunday, July 29.

Casting has been announced for CONCERT FOR AMERICA starring Jorge Avila, Tina Fey, Mandy Gonzalez, Jeremy Jordan, Audra McDonald, Idina Menzel, Olga Merediz, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Andrew Rannells, Chita Rivera, Keala Settle, Shaina Taub and Patrick Wilson. Additional casting will be announced later this week.

BAFTA Award winner and Academy & Tony Award nominee Carey Mulligan (Skylight, An Education) just took her opening night bows in Girls & Boys, the shattering new play by Dennis Kelly (Matilda The Musical, Taking Care of Baby) and directed by Olivier Award winner Lyndsey Turner (Machinal, Chimerica).

Matthew Rauch (CBS's Blue Bloods) and Zina Wilde (HBO's Billions, ABC's Madoff) have joined the cast of Laurence Shanet'sfeature CHASE THE ACE, it was today announced by the film's producers Nicholas Avenue and Ratul Sharma of Fight or Flight Pictures. The action film is currently in production, shooting in New York, and will be completed this summer. Avenue and Sharma wrote the film and star in it as well. Rounding out the cast is Erin Kommor (NBC's Rise).

Vassar & New York Stage and Film have announced the next wave of casting for the highly anticipated 34th Powerhouse Season in Poughkeepsie, NY, which starts this Friday, June 22 and runs through Sunday, July 29. Actors joining the annual summer play development incubator include Tony Award nominee Raul Esparza, Tony Award winner Alice Ripley, Tony Award nominee Denee Benton, Tony Award nominee Lauren Worsham, Tony Award nominee Alex Brightman, Noah Galvin, Frankie J. Alvarez, Lesli Margherita, Michael Esper, and Carson Elrod.

According to Deadline, Netflix has ordered a second season of Llama Llama, its animated series from Genius Brands International. Jennifer Garner leads the voice cast of the preschooler toon, which premiered in January in 20 countries.

Joining the all-star line-up for the 38th annual edition of PBS' A CAPITOL FOURTH, the country's longest-running live national July 4 TV tradition, are theatrical icon and triple-threat Broadway legend Chita Rivera, multi-platinum pop singer and songwriter Andy Grammer, and THE VOICE Season 14 finalist Kyla Jade.  Grammer will perform his hit "Back Home," the lead single from his Gold-certified album Magazines or Novels, on America's national Independence Day celebration.  Gospel singer Jade will open the show with a performance of the "National Anthem."   

The Public Theater's Free Shakespeare in the Park production of Othello opened just last night at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park through Sunday, June 24. 

Amy Wolk and Nikki M. James present I Only Have Lies For You, a live gameshow that pits Broadway panelists against each other in a lying contest. Two teams of three will go head-to-head telling stories, some of which may not be true---it is up to the other team to guess, Truth or Lie. Featuring musical direction by William TN Hall, panelists will defend their stories by all means possible, including song and dance. Hosted by MAC Award winner Amy Wolk, I Only Have Lies For You is presented monthly at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in New York City, and is being recorded as a podcast, which can be found on iTunes.

Williamstown Theatre Festival has announced the artists in residency for the 2018 summer season. This year's artists include WTF Commissioned Artists Benjamin Scheuer (The Lion), Bess Wohl (Small Mouth Sounds), Sharyn Rothstein (By The Water), Max Posner (Judy), and more.
