Manhattan Theatre Club's 2018-2019 season has kicked off with the American premiere of The Nap, get to know the cast below as they begin Broadway performances!

Mari Marchbanks announced today the 2018 recipients of the biennial Horton Foote Prize, named in honor of the late playwright, which recognizes excellence in American theater. The 2018 Prize for Outstanding New American Play, presented to a work produced in the 2016-17 or 2017-18 seasons, is awarded to Cambodian Rock Band by Lauren Yee. The 2018 Prize for Promising New American Play, presented to a previously unproduced work, is awarded to India Pale Ale by Jaclyn Backhaus.

Hailey Kilgore will return to role of Ti Moune in Once On This Island tonight, Tuesday, September 4. Hailey has been out of the show due to a foot injury.

Manhattan Theatre Club will present its 2018 Fall Benefit, honoring legendary three-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters, on Monday evening, November 19 at 583 Park Avenue.

Audible Inc., has announced the upcoming slate of productions at the Minetta Lane Theatre. The slate includes dynamic writing and performances from Patti Smith, Aasif Mandvi and Isaac Gomez, as well as Chisa Hutchinson. All performances will be recorded as Audible Original productions.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced full casting for the new Broadway production of Sam Shepard's TRUE WEST, directed by James Macdonald, starring acclaimed screen and stage actors Ethan Hawke as "Lee" and Paul Dano as "Austin." Marylouise Burke and Gary Wilmes join the cast as "Mom" and "Saul Kimmer."

Individual tickets for most shows in Wharton Center's 2018-2019 season go on sale to the general public Monday, August 20, at 10:00am. PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL, with original music and lyrics by Grammy Award winner Bryan Adams and his longtime songwriting partner Jim Vallance, a book by Garry Marshall and the film's screenwriter J.F. The Nederlander Theatre was the place to be last night, as a pretty magical opening unfolded for Broadway's newest musical, PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL. Starring Broadway regulars like Andy Karl, Orfeh, Jason Danieley, and Eric Anderson, the musical marks the Broadway debut of a new leading lady, Samantha Barks. 

Charlayne Woodard (FX's Pose, ER) who starred in the original AIN'T MISBEHAVIN', the 1978 Tony Award-winning musical that celebrated the music of American composer Fats Waller, has joined the show's 40th-anniversary celebration at Feinstein's/54 Below on Sunday, September 9th at 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm.

Tony Award nominee Jennifer Simard (Disaster!, Hello, Dolly!) will join the cast of Mean Girls as Mrs. Heron / Ms. Norbury / Mrs. George beginning Tuesday, September 11.
