A.C.T.'s Historic Geary Theater Renamed After Longtime San Francisco Philanthropist

American Conservatory Theater has announced that A.C.T.'s historic Geary Theater will be renamed the Toni Rembe Theater after the longtime San Francisco Bay Area arts philanthropist. The renaming is in recognition of a $35 million gift from an anonymous donor. This marks the largest single gift in American Conservatory Theater's history.

American Conservatory Theater Announces Appointment of New Board of Trustees

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Executive Director Jennifer Bielstein and Artistic Director Pam MacKinnon announced the appointment of seven members to their Board of Trustees—Schatzie Allen-Jefferson, Jill Cowan, Kathleen Donohue, Rodney Earl Jackson Jr., Cristy Johnston Limón, Jomar Tagatac, and BD Wong.

Over 100 S.F. Bay Area Arts & Cultural Organizations Unite For #BayAreaArtsTogether

Over 100 arts and cultural organizations from throughout the San Francisco Bay Area have joined forces to create #BayAreaArtsTogether, an integrated marketing and communications campaign aimed at building confidence for the safe and healthy return to in-person performances, exhibits, and events. Using a series of videos and print & digital assets that focus on one word—READY—the campaign will serve as a reminder to patrons of the power of the arts to connect, heal, and unify. 

A.C.T. Announces Annual Season Gala

Today, American Conservatory Theater and gala co-chairs Daivd Riemer and Abby Sadin Schnair announced A.C.T.’s 2021 Season Gala, a hybrid socially-distanced in-person and virtual fundraising event being held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. 

A.C.T. Announces New Performance Dates and Casting for A.C.T. Out Loud Series

The three upcoming readings are: Alice Childress’s Trouble in Mind, directed by Awoye Timpo; George Bernard Shaw’s Arms and the Man, directed by 2020 SAG Award nominee, Obie Award winner, and Tony Award nominee Colman Domingo; and Thornton Wilder’s The Matchmaker, directed by Dawn Monique Williams.

A.C.T. Offers Free Tickets To A CHRISTMAS CAROL: ON AIR For Frontline, Essential, And Arts Workers

Today, American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) is giving the gift of complimentary tickets to their current production of A Christmas Carol: On Air—Charles Dickens's classic brought to life as a fantastical virtual immersive audio event—for frontline and essential workers, as well as artists and workers in the arts industry. In addition, A.C.T. will provide complimentary access to educators for in-class or at-home learning.
