LAST GASP Comes to The Players Theatre This August

The world premiere production of Last Gasp by Jeff Smith, directed by Dan Dinero, will be presented at The Players Theatre (115 MacDougal St., New York NY 10012), August 8-24. Performances will be Thursdays through Saturdays at 7 PM, and Sundays at 3 PM. Tickets ($50) are available at lastgasp.show. The performance will run approximately 90 minutes with no intermission. The show is recommended for ages 18 and up.

Eight Outstanding Teachers Selected For Tenth Annual Freddie G Fellowship

Eight outstanding educators from schools and performing arts centers around the U.S. will work one-on-one with Broadway greats at the 10th Annual FREDDIE G FELLOWSHIP July 10th - 13th.  The event is underwritten by Freddie ('G') Gershon, Co-Chairman of the global theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI), his wife Myrna and MTI. The four days of classes and activities honor instructors and teachers who are working to make a difference for their students and communities through the process of staging musical theatre productions in their schools and educational theatre groups. In addition to the all-expense paid visit to New York, each of the teachers' schools receives $5,000 from Freddie and Myrna. The teachers are empowered to identify and select how their respective school's theatre program can best utilize the funds.

9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL Extends In The West End In To 2020

To mark 9/5 Day today (9-5-2019), a celebration of both the iconic Dolly Parton song and the musical, the producers of 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL are delighted to announce 300,000 more tickets are now on sale for the London run of the musical as the show extends at the Savoy Theatre in to 2020.

George Street Playhouse Artistic Director David Saint To Appear On 'State Of The Arts' Tomorrow

George Street Playhouse is set to open its 2019-20 season in its new home, the state-of-the-art New Brunswick Performing Center this October, marking a new era in the theater's esteemed history of bringing world-class productions to New Jersey audiences. 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL Will Launch Second Production in The UK And Ireland

Following the huge success of 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL at the Savoy Theatre in London's West End, the producers of the show are delighted to announce that a second production of the hit musical will play 11 cities throughout the UK and Ireland, opening at the Alexandra Theatre Birmingham on 6 September 2019, before visiting Manchester, Milton Keynes, Liverpool, Glasgow, Woking, Aberdeen, Cardiff, Sunderland, Edinburgh and Dublin. Louise Redknapp Will Rejoin 9 TO 5 The Musical

Louise Redknapp will re-join the cast of 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL in the role of 'Violet Newstead' at the Savoy Theatre, London from 25 March until 29 June 2019. 9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL opened in the West End last month, where Dolly Parton attended the premiere and joined the cast on stage at the finale. The show is booking at the Savoy Theatre until 31 August 2019.

In a programme interview, Patricia Resnick - writer of both the original 1980 film and this 2008 musical adaptation - notes that Jane Fonda wanted to convey a political message about workplace sexism, but realised couching it in comedy would make it more palatable. Like composer Dolly Parton herself, who appears on video to top and tail the stage show, it's a considered combination of sugar and steel.
