The BBC is celebrating this extraordinary anniversary with an ambitious season of content across TV, Radio, BBC iPlayer & BBC Sounds exploring why, 400 years on, Shakespeare's relevance and influence is as strong as ever. A wealth of programming featuring major actors and leading experts, including new documentaries, performance, music, drama, comedy, news coverage and the best of the BBC archive, as well as special items on flagship BBC shows, will celebrate the man, his world and his timeless writing.

Chief Executive John Crumlish and Artistic Director Paul Fahy announced the programme for Galway International Arts Festival 2023, its most ambitious programme in the Festival's 45 year-history. Celebrating on a larger scale than ever before across theatre, music, circus, dance, visual arts, comedy, street spectacle and talks over 14 exciting days and nights.

The 92nd Street Y Unterberg Poetry Center's Winter/Spring season features readings by best-selling and prize-winning novelists, acclaimed poets, tributes to Shakespeare, Lucille Clifton and Toni Morrison – and a dramatic reading of Anne Carson's “The Glass Essay,” among other programs.

The Royal Shakespeare Company today announced five new Trustee appointments at its Extraordinary General Meeting. The appointments have been made following a public and far-reaching recruitment campaign for RSC Board members.

While the doors of Irondale remain closed amidst the Coronavirus outbreak, the ensemble is re-imagining their critically acclaimed mega-text, The 1599 Project through a 4-part virtual series, streaming live on the company's YouTube channel.

Following the organizations decision last week to pause their 4 part series of 1599 in response to the widespread demonstrations, the ensemble will present their virtual performance of Julius Caesar at 7:00 p.m., streamed live to their YouTube channel. The project title, which refers to the seminal year that Shakespeare wrote four of his greatest works, was originally performed in 2016 in a four-hour theater marathon with seven actors portraying more than 70 roles. 

The authors and professors Scott Newstok, James Shapiro, Larry Miller and Emma Smith, Professor all have unique perspectives about Shakespeare for our world. They will come together for a free 45-minute, live-streamed conversation moderated by TFANA Founding Artistic Director Jeffrey Horowitz, followed by a 30-minute public Q&A.
