After 10 days and 123 feature films, the 2018 Sundance Film Festival's Awards Ceremony took place last night, with host Jason Mantzoukas emceeing and jurors presenting 28 prizes for feature filmmaking in Park City, Utah.

THE NERD Set to Open at Bowie Playhouse

Prince George's Little Theatre will produce 'The Nerd,' a classic farce by Larry Shue, at the Bowie Playhouse from August 11 - 26. All Friday performances and the Saturday performances August 12 and 19 are at 8 p.m. The Sunday performances on August 13 and 20 and the closing performance on Saturday, August 26 are 2 p.m. matinees. The play is directed by John Degnan and produced by Malia Murray.

On May 2nd, The 52nd Street Project held their annual benefit, LAUGHING MATTERS, Kids' Stand-up, Adults Deliver at the Edison Ballroom in New York. The raucous sold-out event hosted by comedians Lewis Black and Kathleen Madigan, was The Project's most successful to date with over 350 people in attendance, raising funds for the Project's academic and artistic mentoring programming. The Project makes a difference in the lives of Hell's Kitchen (Clinton) kids by pairing them with theater professionals who mentor them through the creation of original theater. The 52nd Street Project makes a difference in the lives of countless Hell's Kitchen (Clinton) kids by pairing them with theater professionals who mentor them through the creation of original theater. Perhaps the most poignant presentations made by The 52nd Street Project are those in its semi-annual Playmaking series, which features the Project's youngest Hell's Kitchen mentees-ten year-olds who have just begun their theatrical education-writing for accomplished professional actors and revealing their work to a public audience for the first time. Accomplished professional actors including Dan Butler, Carson Elrod, Daniel Jenkins, Matt Saldivar and others will perform in Fresh Start: The Rejuvenation Plays, the Project's Spring 2016 Playmaking show.
